Orange County Flyers Select 2009 ‘Victory Girls’ Squad

Team of 12 girls from all over California to dance, cheer at Flyers’ games and attend community events, promotions

OrangeCountyFlyers.com |FULLERTON, Calif. (4/29/2009) – The Orange County Flyers, the 2008 Golden Baseball League champions, have selected their “Victory Girls” for the upcoming 2009 season. Consisting of 12 young ladies, the Victory Girls will dance and lead the Flyers’ crowds in cheering at home games at Goodwin Field on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. They can also be seen around Orange County, promoting the Flyers at a variety of community events.

Bob Elder, the team’s vice president of communications, said spectators at the games will have more opportunities to mingle with the Victory Girls.

“We had a good squad last year, but this year they’re going to be more interactive with the fans,” Elder said. “It’s also important that the Victory Girls be out there in the public eye so people can see them. We want them to represent the Flyers well.”

One girl who auditioned, Breanne Nagy, was a Victory Girl last year. Nagy said she was hoping to make the team again because it is so much fun.

“It was a great experience last year,” she said. “Definitely I have the experience now and the environment dancing here with the fans and players was wonderful. I’m hoping to do it again.”
