Did you know the Houston Texans Cheerleaders have a set of twins on their squad that were featured prominently in a magazine? Due to a conflict with a wedding, only a few of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders made it to P-R-O this year, but it was great to see them and their new uniform designed by The Line Up. The P-R-O Conventions not only attracts the top Cheerleaders and Dancers in US professional sports, but from around the world as well. Las Celestes are the first soccer cheerleaders in Mexico and perform at the home games of Mexico City’s Cruz Azul. (Okay, so I really slacked off with the P-R-O Coverage. Going to make up for it this week with five squads) First time at P-R-O for the Orlando Lady Titans of the National Lacrosse League. The Titans relocated from NY to Florida last fall, leaving Dance Team Director (and former Orlando Magic Dancer) Danielle Barnhart just a few weeks, to put together a squad, design the uniforms, and begin rehearsals. In spite of the time crunch, she and her squad did a fabulous job. (Yes, I still have much more to post from P-R-O) This is Tracey, a two-year veteran of the Redskins Cheerleaders. She has a degree in Communications from Virginia Wesleyan College and works for a digital marketing company as an Account/Sales Rep. When I talked to Tracey at P-R-O, she had some very exciting news. Maxim had selected her to be in an upcoming issue. The Monday after the convention, she and WRC Director Stephanie Jojokian were to take the Metroliner to New York City for the photo shoot. Tracey wasn’t completely sure what to expect. They had asked for her measurements, and she was bringing along a plethora of Redskins Cheerleaders uniforms. We’ll get to see how it turned out in a few weeks. When I arrived in Atlanta, I had an idea of the type of article that I was going to do, my customary event report. I knew that James was going to cover each and every squad in attendance, but I wanted to do something different and I was searching for another angle. So, when Saturday began, I took the opportunity to talk with each sponsor. I wanted to find out a little more about their business and why they were here. One sponsor stood out immediately. The Line Up is one of the leading designers of performance dance apparel. I was impressed by the number of teams that wear their fashions and in talking to owner Deb Erickson, I discovered that many of the squads here would be wearing her designs. I figured a little article covering the Line Up’s fashions might be in order, so I spoke with the organizers of PRO and received clearance to pose a few girls in their Line Up designed uniforms. First up is the N.Y. Jets Flight Crew (NFL) and Houston Texans (NFL). Continue reading P-R-O Convention Sponsor Spotlight: The Line Up
