Here’s a look at the front and back covers: Ice Angels announce summer prep class and audition dates ALLEN, Texas – The Allen Americans Ice Angels are excited to announce that audition prep classes will be held every Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. beginning July 7 at Legacy Dance Center in Frisco. There will be six classes total on the following dates: July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28, Aug. 4 and Aug. 11.
The sessions offer a glimpse of how professional dance team practices are conducted, as well as give participants an upper edge for tryouts. Ice Angels Director BreAnna Foddrill, a veteran of the Dallas Desperados Dancers, will be at each of the classes. Last year, nine out of the 12 women that made up the squad attended prep classes. The Ice Angels’ dance style is advanced hip-hop, and prep classes cost $15 each. Ages 15 and up are welcome to attend, but participants must be 18 years old to audition for the squad. Attendees should wear dance pants or shorts with a half top or tank top. Legacy Dance Center is located is at 4040 Legacy Drive, Frisco, TX 75034. Preliminary and semifinal auditions will be held Aug. 14 for the dance team, and final auditions will be Aug. 21. There will be one audition for the ice skating team Aug. 14. Times and locations will be announced at a later date. The squad is looking for a total of 12 girls. Last season, the first-year Ice Angels were runners-up in the dance team category in the CHL’s Best of the Best poll. Also, four squad members made the 2010 MLN MAJOR ATTITUDE Dance Team in MLN Sports Zone’s annual issue that recognizes the top 20 minor league dancers and cheerleaders. The Ice Angels had more members selected than any other club. Every year, the Central Hockey League sends out ballots to players, coaches and broadcasters looking for the best of the best, on and off the ice. The winners in the category of “Best Cheerleaders/Dance Team” are the Colorado Eagles Chicks Dance Team!
In second place came the Allen Americans Ice Angels. And in third place were the Rapid City Rushettes. Congratulations to all the squads and dancers! Enthusiastic and Motivated Members Wanted to Engage Spitfire Fans Are you full of energy? Can you bring a crowd to its feet? If so, the Windsor Spitfires want you to join the newly created Spitfire Ice Girls Team. The Spitfires are currently looking to add highly energetic, fun and engaging members to the 2009-2010 Ice Girls Team – a promotions, entertainment and fan interaction team. The Ice Girl members are at the forefront of gearing up the crowd for Spitfires hockey. They welcome fans to the WFCU Centre by distributing promotional giveaway items and engaging in overall fan interaction with energy and enthusiasm during each home game! Ice Girl members will work alongside Bomber, Windsor’s favorite mascot, while posing for pictures, dancing in the isles, handing out prizes and entertaining the crowd. Applicants for the Windsor Spitfire Ice Girls must be 18 years of age or older and extremely confident in their performance, improvisational and interpersonal skills. All candidates should enjoy performing in front of large crowds and enjoy working in a highly visible environment. Candidates should possess the ability to remain on their feet for the entire game. The Ice Girls will also have a presence and contribute to our community as an ambassador for the Windsor Spitfires which would include attending public appearances such as corporate events, private parties, charity events, trade shows, parades, etc! The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are holding preliminary auditions for our Ice Girls dance team at 6:30 pm on Friday, September 18 at Vicki’s School of Dance (2850 Douglas Drive, Bossier City). We’re looking for high-energy ladies with dancing ability, poise, physical fitness, commitment, and a positive attitude to join our dance team. If you are at least 18 years old and fit those criteria, we want you to become a Mudbugs Ice Girl! The Mudbugs Ice Girls dance team will perform at the Mudbugs’ home opener and every Saturday night home game this season at the CenturyTel Center, as well as selected other promotional events and team appearances throughout the season. The team will hold 2-4 rehearsals each week in addition to performances and appearances. The Mudbugs Ice Girls will be directed by Sara Fulghum, a former member of the world-famous Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders and LSU Golden Girls.
