Elizabeth Guaraldo, New Director of Baltimore Mariners Cheerleading

Congratulations to good friend of the blog Elizabeth Guaraldo, who is the new Director of Cheerleading for the AIFA Baltimore Mariners.

From Baltimore Mariners.com

This will be Elizabeth Guaraldo’s first season with the Baltimore Mariners. Guaraldo has been the Director of the National Indoor Soccer League’s Baltimore Blast Cheerleaders since 2007. The Blast Cheerleaders have released two swimsuit calendars, performed at the AST Dew Tour and have traveled to Bermuda to participate in the Island Soccer League (ISL) All Star game that took place this summer. Prior to working with the Mariners, Guaraldo was a 2005-2006 Washington Redskins Cheerleader. She went to college at UMBC where she was on their dance team as both a member and a captain.

Liz tells us that she’s still with the Blast Organization as well, so she’s going to be handling two dance teams at once. If anyone’s suited to handle such a incredible time commitment, it’s Liz. She earned her Masters in Education from Johns Hopkins, completing 39 credit hours in just one year, all while working an internship and coaching the Blast Cheerleaders.

Third Annual Summer Softball Showdown

The Third Annual Summer Softball Challenge was held this past Saturday at the 80th Street Field in Stone Harbor at the Jersey Shore. Ladies from the KiXX Dance Team, Flyers Ice Team, Phillies Ball Girls and Wings Angels slugged it out while raising money for the Comcast-Spectator Foundation, the Phillies Charities and the KiXX Charities.

Originally the plan was for a combined Phillies-KiXX team to take on a team from the Flyers and Wings. But summer shore traffic (I heard on the radio there was a 20-mile backup on Delsea Drive) delayed the arrival of some players, so The Phillies Ball Girls ended up playing on both teams.

This is the last appearance for Rachel as a member of the KiXX Dance Team. She just earned her degree in Organizational Communication from Temple. She has a lead on a job in the area, but if it doesn’t pan out she’s moving to Dallas. Good luck, Rachel!

An after party featuring a live band, silent auction and meet and greet with the participants was held at the Golden Inn just a couple of blocks away. Unfortunately, I have no photos from the party. I had to hustle back to Philadelphia to cover the Philadelphia Fight Vixens Dance Team. Those photos are coming tomorrow.
