Congratulations to the Richmond Lady Raiders who were named 2010 AIFA Eastern Conference Dance Team of the Year in just their first year of existence. The Lady Raiders are under the direction of former St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleader Laura Eilers.

Auditions begin on July 29, 2010 and conclude with finals on Sunday, August 8, 2010.

Rookie candidates are required to attend at least one Audition Clinic and Preliminary Auditions. Rookie candidates will be invited to attend Rookie Interviews and Audition Finals. The rookie application fee is $25.00*.

Previous Lady Raiders are required to attend Returning Veteran Interviews in July and minimum one (1) Audition Clinic. Previous Lady Raiders receive a bye to Audition Finals and should participate in the Finals Rehearsal. The returning Lady Raiders application fee is $15.00. Payments may be submitted in person using cash or check payable to Richmond Raiders. Credit cards are not accepted.

Pre-Audition Workshops:
These optional pre-audition workshops give you the opportunity to get a closer look at the Lady Raiders program beyond just dance and cheerleading choreography and skills. Workshops also cover communication, attire, glamour, fitness and other program components.

Workshops are $15.00 each. Candidates who attend the optional workshops will receive a $5.00 discount on audition registration. Payments may be submitted in person using cash or check payable to Richmond Raiders. Credit cards are not accepted.

Pro Dance classes are a great way to perfect your dance technique and get more exposure to the Lady Raiders dance and cheer style. Host Your Own Raiderette Summer Youth Cheer & Dance Camp
Invite the Lady Raiders to host your 3-hour summer camp for dancers and cheerleaders of any age! [Richmond Lady Raiders]

The Richmond Raiders would like to congratulate Lady Raider Brittany Gordon on her recent accomplishment to become the 2010 Miss Virginia United States!

In April, Brittany was named the new Miss Virginia United States, based on interview, public communication, swimsuit and evening gown pageants. As a Lady Raider, Brittany performs at all home Raiders games at the Coliseum and appears in the community throughout the year. Brittany will appear in her crown at this Friday’s Raiders game on April 30 at 7:00pm.

“My favorite part of being a Lady Raider,” says Brittany, “is giving back to the city of Richmond with this amazing group of women. It’s a true blessing to work alongside them, and an honor to represent the Raiders organization and now the state of Virginia.

In July, Brittany will walk the stage in Las Vegas representing Virginia at the Miss United States pageant. Brittany is from Richmond, VA where she attended Monacan High School then graduated from University of South Carolina. Currently a Campaign Support Coordinator at a local interactive marketing agency, Brittany plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Communications.

Auditions for the 2009-2010 season will be held on Friday November 27th, Saturday November 28th and Sunday November 29th, 2009!

The Richmond Raiders will be holding dance team tryouts on November 27th, 28th and 29th. The Raiders Dance Team will be the hottest dance team in Richmond area! 2009-2010 team members will perform at all home Richmond Raiders games and appear at events in and outside of Richmond area.

Open Call Audition

* Audition is closed to the public, family, and friends.
* Must be 18 yrs of age or older (high school diploma or equiv)
* All participants must be prepared to stay as late as 4:00 pm (no exceptions)
* You will not need to prepare your own performance routine.
* We recommend that you bring snacks, a water bottle, a towel, and items to freshen up.
* Participants will be judged on appearance, fitness, dance ability, style, strength and completion of movement, energy, projection, and potential.

What we’re looking for:

* Showmanship, personality, energy, and enthusiasm!
* Professionalism and maturity
* Dancers who are well spoken and can represent the Richmond Raiders in a professional manner at all times
* Dance technique and style
* Ability to pick up dance choreography quickly
