The 2010 Suns Dancers Calendar presented by Verve, the Official Energy Drink of the Phoenix Suns, will go on sale on Thursday, January 28 when the Suns take on the Dallas Mavericks at US Airways Center. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m.

Prior to tip-off the entire 2010 Suns Dancers team will host a calendar signing in the Casino Arizona Pavilion from 7 – 8 p.m. During the signing the calendars will be available for the discounted price of $10.

The 16-month swimsuit calendar runs from January 2010 through April 2011 and features the entire 2009-10 Suns Dancers team, highlighting one dancer each month.

The 2010 Suns Dancers Calendar presented by Verve is available in The Team Shop for $11.99. All proceeds will benefit Phoenix Suns Charities.

Phoenix Suns Charities is the cornerstone of the team’s foundation, making grants to non-profit organizations that serve children and youth in the areas of education, health and human services, the arts, sports and recreation, and rehabilitation. In the 22 years since its inception, Phoenix Suns Charities has donated over nine million dollars to worthy Arizona organizations.

Congratulations Brittany Bell who was crowned Miss Arizona USA 2010 this past weekend in Mesa.

Brittany, who was competing as Miss Chandler, is a three-time Phoenix Suns Dancer (2006-09) and will go on to compete in the Miss USA Pageant on April 18th in Las Vegas.

This good news comes to us via former Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader and current Sweetheart for Soldiers Morgan Hora who was the choreographer for the pageant.

The 2009 Phoenix Suns Dancers have been announced.

Here’s your opportunity to cast your vote for the 2009-10 Suns Dancers.

And when you vote you’ll will be entered into a drawing for a pair of courtside seats to a 2009-10 Suns home game. Voting will conclude on Monday, August 24 at 5 p.m. Fan voting will be taken into consideration when determining this year’s Suns Dancers.

For the first time, audition finalists will also participate in a week-long training camp to get a glimpse into life as a Suns Dancer, coinciding with the week-long fan vote.

Following the conclusion of fan voting, the Suns will offer fans a behind-the-scenes look into Suns Dancers auditions on the KUTP My45 exclusive special, “Making of the Suns Dancers.” The show will air on Tuesday, August 25 at 9:30 p.m.

The half-hour feature will include interviews with potential team members and a glimpse into the commitment required to being a part of one of the best dance teams in the NBA.

Kari was previously the Dance Team Director for the NHL Phoenix Coyote and the NLL Arizona Sting.

Forty-three women from the Washington Redskins’ cheerleading squad are on Marco Island this week for a photo shoot for an upcoming swimsuit calendar.

The team is staying at the Marco Island Marriott Resort and spa from May 26 to June 2.

Melanie Coburn, director of marketing for the Washington Redskins’ cheerleading squad, said the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ cheerleading squad shot their annual calendar last year at the resort and Marriott officials were interested in bringing another cheer team to Marco.

So far, the women have enjoyed dinner at Capt. Brien’s. Dinner at Stan’s in Goodland is planned for later in the week.

“I love it,” Coburn said of the Marco experience. “This is my first time. It’s been awesome. Everybody here at the Marriott has been very accommodating.”

“The shoots have gone well,” Coburn said. “We’re really excited to the see the final product.”

The squad is scheduled to perform Saturday, May 30 at 9 p.m. at the Marriott by the resort’s tiki terrace. In addition, the team will on a sunset cruise on the Marco Princess June 1.

The calendar, which will include all 43 women, will be available online at late July at redskins.com/cheerleaders.

This is the cheerleading team’s 12th annual swimsuit calendar.
