WBS Pioneers Pony Express and Stunt Team
Last Saturday at Wilkes-Barre’s Wachovia Arena the Wilkes-Barre Pioneers handily defeated the Mahoning Valley Thunder, 80-43.
Along with a victory fans were treated to performances by the Dance Team and the Stunt Team.
The Wilkes-Barre Pioneer Dance Team, The Pony Express, is under the direction of Lisa Inglese. Lisa is a three-year veteran of the Pioneers Dance Team. She is a graduate from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor degree in Recreation and Leisure Management.
The WBS Pioneers Stunt Team is under the direction of Coaches Laura Janowitz and Molly O’Neil.
Co-captain Amy is the Pioneers nominee for the 209 af2 Dream Team.
The past 2 seasons the Pony Express have had to stand in the tunnel waiting for the offense to move the ball past midfield before they would have a chance to dance. This season one of the corners past the endzone has been set aside so they can cheer and dance for the fans all game long.
You may remember Ryan from last season. She danced for the Pioneers a decade after she was a Miami Dolphins Cheerleader. Ryan had a seizure and can’t drive for 6 months. Since she lives 45 minutes from the Pony Express’s dance studio, she had to move from the Dance Team to the Promo Squad.
