Maine Red Claws Dance Team Tryouts
Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the Inaugural Maine Red Claws Dance Team! This prestigious group of women will uphold a high quality dance performance and community involvement. During the audition process, the applicants will be judged on poise, dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship, personality and individual applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be 18 years of age by November 1, 2009
* Must have a reliable means of transportation.
* Must have flexible schedules for rehearsals 3-4 times a week, 24+ home games and personal appearances/promotions during the 2009-10 season.
OPEN AUDITION:
* Date: June 6, 2009
* Timing: Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.
* Auditions will begin at 8:30 a.m.
* **Please arrive early the day of tryouts. No one will be permitted in once the tryouts begin.
Location: Portland Expo Building (Home of the Maine Red Claws)
PLEASE NOTE: To ensure a professional and relaxed atmosphere for all participants, auditions will be closed. Guests, family and friends will not be allowed to attend.
AUDITION ATTIRE:
A two-piece outfit with flesh-colored tights/hosiery is mandatory. A two-piece outfit consists of any top that shows your midriff (sports bra, halter-top, etc.) and bottoms (briefs or hot shorts). This helps to standardize and minimize the possibility of an unfair advantage based on individual attire. Jazz shoes, dance shoes or athletic shoes (minimal tread and non-marking soles) are also mandatory. Please wear full game day hair and make-up.

Step 2: All interested applicants should fill out an application and release forms (links are below). Please mail or fax release form, photo and $25 pre-registration fee to: Maine Red Claws, Attn: Dance Team Auditions, PO Box 15180, Portland, ME 04112…..or drop off at our office…..413 Congress Street, Portland, ME 04101. Make sure to include….
* A copy of your driver’s license
* Provide a 5×7 or larger photo. (The photo enables judges to put a face with the application. Photo is required and will not be returned.)
* Include $25.00 registration fee.
* Forms of payment include: Cash, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, money order or cashiers check. If sending a check, make payable to Maine Basketball LLC.
* Release forms
Please Note: Forms must be received at the above address no later than June 1, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. All applications received after this date or the day of the audition will be subject to a $30 registration fee.
