Rowland Named New Director of the Idaho Stampede Spirit Dance Team

Jessica Rowland has been named Director of the Idaho Stampede Spirit Dance Team, the organization announced today. She becomes the fourth director in the organization’s history, following Carlene Nichols, Carol Fipps and Jennifer Hordemann, who is leaving the position to spend more time with her husband and newborn daughter.

Rowland was previously a Stampede Spirit dancer for the previous seven seasons, the last four as the team’s captain.

“I’m truly looking forward to becoming the next director of the Stampede Spirit Dance team,” Rowland said. “I’ve worked closely with Jennifer over the years and feel that the transition will be smooth and that we will provide the best, most exciting entertainment for the Stampede.”

Rowland graduated from Boise State University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and an associate’s degree in criminal justice administration. She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling from BSU in 2010, and shortly after, Rowland became a licensed professional counselor.

“The Idaho Stampede Dance Team has a long history of success and professionalism due to the management of the Directors,” said Idaho Stampede Managing Investor Bill Ilett. “Our retiring director, Jenn Hordemann, is owed a debt of gratitude for her hard work. I know Jessica will carry on the great tradition of the Stampede Spirit.”

Hordemann was the Stampede Spirit Dance team director for the past five seasons and danced for four years prior to that.
