Game Day With The Ladies of Ontario Fury
This past weekend, I spent some quality time with the Ladies of Ontario Fury. Game day is always special because at the Citizens Business Bank Arena, you can get up close and personal with the girls and because of the intimate setting, I always get some great photos of the girls in action.
This was my first visit to see the Ladies of Ontario Fury this season and I had a chance to catch up with their Director, Lynae de Leon to see how things were going. This year has been a bit of a challenge with the passage of a new California state law that mandates that cheerleaders are treated like employees, paying them at least minimum wage and compensating them for all practices and appearances. For NFL or NBA teams with multi-million dollar revenue streams this hasn’t been much of an issue, but for semi-pro teams with more limited financial resources, this has had a significant impact. She has told me of challenges in trying to put on the type of quality entertainment that the team has produced over the years.
The Fury does put on a good show with the fast paced soccer action and the in-game entertainment, my visits are something that I look forward to each year. So let’s take a look at some of the game day action.
Pre-game performance
I love the white high heeled boots with this outfit…it’s a killer look, but the boots are difficult to dance in on the turf.
Player introductions and National Anthem
Stage Performances
When the game begins, the Ladies of Ontario Fury move up to the concourse area to perform during breaks in the action.
Field Performances
At the quarter break, the Ladies of Ontario Fury performed dance on the field during the break in the action.
Another wonderful weekend with the Ladies of Ontario Fury, the hottest dance team in the MASL. You too can meet them in person at their next home game on February 13th at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. Be there!
