It is a new beginning for the Chargers.  Their long quest for a solution to their stadium issue was resolved when they formally relocated to the Los Angeles market for 2017 season.  The team will play their home games in the intimate confines of the StubHub Center for the next two years while they await the completion of their new, state of the art stadium in Inglewood. 

It is also a new beginning for the Charger Girls.  Of the 28 young women who graced the sidelines last year, only eight are tying out for the 2017 squad.  So, there are definitely big changes in store for the organization and for the Charger Girls.  It is a new chapter in their storied history.

2017-18 Cheerleader auditions

Requirements

• Must be at least 19 years of age prior to auditioning.
• Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D.
• Must have a part-time, or full-time job or be a college or professional student.
• Must be able to attend rehearsals at least 2 days a week.

What to wear to Open Call:

• A two-piece outfit (crop top/sports bra, shorts/briefs) with flesh-colored tights/nylons. Please no lingerie.
• Any shoe you are comfortable dancing in (no bare feet).
• Hair and make-up should be done.

Must have the following on day of Auditions at Registration:

• Photo
•  $45 Registration Fee (cash only)

• Light Snack (it will be a long day)

All dancers selected as finalists must be available to participate in our Finalist Training Camp beginning Sunday, June 11 through Thursday, June 15. Training camp Sunday will take place in the afternoon. Week night training camp activities will take place in the evening. Professional interviews will be scheduled for all rookie finalist candidates to take place during Pelicans office hours. Specific dates, times, and locations TBD.

Auditions Requirements:

• Must be in top physical condition

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older by July 1, 2017. NO EXCEPTIONS. Verification of age will be required with valid photo ID.

• Must have a high school diploma in order to audition. Verification will be required. Acceptable forms of proof include a copy of a high school diploma, college transcript and/or a college I.D.

• Recent headshot (4×6 or larger preferred). Photos will not be returned. Photos are for identification and should be a current representation of what you look like or will look like at the audition.

• Resume including professional and dance background

• Attire: Half-top that reveals midriff, hot shorts or trunks, flesh colored tights and dance or athletic sneakers with non-marking soles. Feel free to express your style but refrain from wearing anything distracting or that could cause injury such as large earrings or necklaces. Anyone not wearing the required attire will not be permitted to audition.

• Performance ready hair and make-up are expected. No pony-tails.

• Applications are to be completed prior to arrival. Please bring completed application to auditions and do not submit in advance. DOWNLOAD AN APPLICATION

• The entire audition process is closed to the public. No exceptions.

• Finalists selected at the end of the preliminary audition will advance to Finalist Training Camp. Finalist Training Camp will consist of mandatory workshops and interviews in the days following preliminaries.

• All candidates must be available for all phases of the audition process and be prepared to stay as long as necessary (no exceptions!)

• All candidates must be of good moral character and successfully complete all pre-employment screening. The Pelicans organization is a drug-free workplace. Drug test screenings will be conducted for finalists.
