Ultimate Cheerleaders

The Atlanta Dream is looking for enthusiastic men and women with a dance/cheer background, a positive attitude, amazing energy, and dedication. Atlanta Dream Shooting Stars Dance Team auditions are comprised of two stages: preliminary auditions and final auditions.

Preliminary Registration is open 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Auditions will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m.

Preliminary audition will consist of two cuts on Sunday. Lunch will NOT be provided and no concessions will be open- bring any food or drinks you may need. Please plan to remain on site all day. Finalists will be announced following second round of cuts!

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age – please bring ID
  • Have training synchronized dance team choreography – tumbling skills, cheer stunts and pom experience are a plus
  • Must reside in the metro Atlanta area with a reliable means of transportation
  • There are no minimum or maximum height or weight requirements

Candidates must be able to attend:

  • Finalist training camp on Monday, March 20th
  • Evening rehearsals during the work week, starting in April
  • Dream home games until the end of the WNBA season (including Playoffs)

Things to know

  • The Shooting Stars are a professional dance team, but the job is a part-time position
  • The Shooting Stars appear at corporate and charity events around Atlanta
  • Please wear comfortable dance or athletic attire and gym shoes
  • Hair and makeup should be glamorous and sophisticated
  • Bring water and snacks each day

PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS

BRING: Completed application, a recent non-returnable photo (snapshot accepted), a valid photo ID, a light lunch/drink, a non-refundable $25.00 (cash or money order) application fee

FINALIST BOOT CAMP (closed to the public)

Date: Sunday, April 2nd, 2017

Location: Winter Park – 9520 Viking Dr. Eden Prairie, MN 55344  *Park across the street in the ramp located in the Olympic Place Building.

Time: Call time is 9 am. Plan for a long day!

Fee: $25 registration fee (cash or credit card only, NO refunds). **Register online or at the door.

– Here is your chance to be the first MVC to cheer in the new stadium! GO FOR IT!

– Please review all of the questions in the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section of this site for detailed information about tryouts. Auditions are closed to the public! Arrive dressed in form-fitting clothing and prepared to dance. Bring a resume, photo, application (available at the door) and application fee. You will also want to pack a lunch/snack, water bottle and layers to keep warm between rounds of auditions.

 

***AUDITION REQUIREMENTS***

– Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D. by June 2017

– If selected, must reside or be willing to commute to the Minneapolis metro area for rehearsals, appearances, games, etc.

– Must be able to attend ALL rehearsals, games and other related activities (Practices are held on Tues., Thurs. & Sun. evenings)

– Must have a valid passport

– Must be able to show proof of health insurance, a recent physical, age verification and a diploma, as needed

– Must provide a completed and signed application and release/waiver

– If selected to the team, a one year contract and commitment are required

– $25 Application Fee made payable to the Minnesota Vikings is due at Open Auditions (cash or credit only) *Non-refundable

-Must provide a recent non- refundable headshot and resume

-Attendance at all rounds of audition competition is required (See detailed list below.)

Audition Timeline:

When are finals?

Requirements:
• Must be 18 years of age by April 2, 2017.  There is no limit for maximum age
• Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Must at least have a part-time job or be a part-time student
• No height or weight requirements, but you must be in good physical condition
 
Audition Attire:
• Wear dance friendly shoes. Tennis shoes recommended
• Dance hot pants or briefs (no thongs)
• Midriff top
• Hair & makeup need to be performance quality (no ponytails)
 
What will the judges be looking for?
• Appearance, Dance Ability, Showmanship, Poise, Personality, Attitude, Work Ethic, Education, and Future Goals

Learn new choreography and perform alongside other participants as you audition to become a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Rams.

Final Audition
April 2

Candidates who advance past the preliminary auditions are required to participate in an interview, additional training and rehearsals leading up to the final auditions, which will be held at The Bovard Theatre, USC.
