The Chicago Blackhawks are holding open auditions for the 2019-20 Ice Crew!

The Ice Crew represents the Blackhawks at all home games and at various community events during the season.

Audition schedule:

1st Round – Auditions: Mon., July 15, 6-9 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena (1801 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago)

2nd Round – Interviews and Skating Clinic: To be conducted during the evenings of Tue., July 16 and Wed., July 17 at the United Center.

Final Audition: Fri., July 19, 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena (1801 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago)*

*Selected 2019-20 team members must be available post-audition for team meetings during the evening of Mon., July 22 and the weekend of Fri., July 26 through Sun., July 28.

THUNDER GIRLS

Preliminary Auditions: Saturday, July 20

Check-in begins at 12:00 p.m. You MUST pre-register on-line (form-below) prior to audition day. On-line payment of $30 required at time of registration.
Walk-up registrations WILL NOT be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS
Auditions begin at 12:30 p.m.

The July 20 audition is NOT open to the public for viewing.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
After checking in and pictures, you will be led through stretching and warmups, followed by basic across the floor technique. You will learn a short pom routine to audition in group immediately after. You will be taught a hip-hop style routine to be auditioned in groups immediately after. We will select our semi-finalists from these auditions.


Semifinalist Auditions: Monday, July 22 – 6pm – 9pm

Stretching and warmups followed by across the floor technique. Add on to hip hop routine and audition entire routine immediately after. Learn first half a jazz style routine to be auditioned in groups after. Finalists will be chosen from these auditions. Finalist will be provided a uniform sports bra. You must provide your own black dance shorts.


Final Auditions: Tuesday, July 23 – Thursday, July 25

Arrive in “game day” hair and makeup, in finalist uniform. You will go through a social interview session, green screen dance video sessions, and photo sessions. Please bring warmups or sweats to wear over uniform during your social session. Review and add on to jazz routine.

Wednesday, July 24 | 6:30pm
Team bootcamp at FitCamp 180. Hair should be worn in a neat ponytail, no makeup required. Team activity. Written test. Stretching and warmups followed by across the floor technique. Time to show individual advances dance skills and/or any gymnastics skills. These skills are not required. Here music for final audition freestyle.

Thursday, July 25 | 6pm
Stretching, followed by final audition of full jazz routine. Choreographed or freestyle solo to music provided. Friday, July 26, 5pm 2019 -2020 Thunder Girls will be announced at okcthunder.com/thundergirls.


What do we look for in a Thunder Girl?

  • Technical, talented dancer and performer
  • Ability to pick up dance choreography quickly
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • A professional and well-spoken ambassador for the Thunder organiation
  • Consistent, positive attitude
  • Energetic and hard-working
  • Physically fit and uphold personal appearance
  • Must be at least 18 years old by July 26, 2019. No exceptions.

What should I bring to the audition?

  • Water and snacks
  • Hair supplies, makeup supplies and a towel

What should I wear to auditions?

  • Two-piece attire (half top with briefs, dance shorts or dance skirt)
  • Skin-colored nylons or tights
  • Non-marking shoes (jazz shoes, dance sneakers, athletic shoes)
  • Hair must be worn down; full hair and makeup
  • Tattoos must be completely covered with makeup or clothing
  • Stud earrings only; no other jewelry is allowed except for engagement/wedding rings

What should I do to prepare for auditions?

  • Thunder Girls prep classes are not mandatory, but they are highly recommended as an excellent way to touch up on your dance skills and learn what it takes to be a Thunder Girl!

Timberwolves Dancers Open Call Auditions

The Timberwolves Dancers feature the NBA’s elite blend of dance styles, performance and involvement in the community and we would like to invite professional and aspiring dancers to an Open Audition to join our team!

Dancers will compete in an Open Audition process and will be judged on their dance ability, crowd appeal, and showmanship. Those selected as dancer finalists will move on to a 10-day boot camp which includes interviews, rehearsals, and fitness training. The audition will conclude with our finalists performing in the NBA’s premiere Dance Selection Show.

WHAT TO EXPECT

When dancers arrive, they are prompted to the registration area for check-in. There will be one area for pre-registration applicants and one area for walk-up applicants. You may be asked to show your driver’s license and or government issued identification. All applicants are required to bring a current headshot and resume.

After registration, dancers will go to the audition court for warm-ups and stretching.

ROUND ONE
Elements: Across the floor combination, dance technique, personality and performance skills.

ROUND TWO
A Choreographer will teach a hip hop or jazz funk combination for dancers to emulate within groups in front of a panel of judges.

At the end of Open Auditions, finalists will be announced. Finalists will be selected based on their dance ability, showmanship, physical fitness, performance, and crowd appeal.

REQUIRED DANCE ATTIRE

2-piece attire (crop top & shorts/briefs) preferred to help regulate and curtail any unfair advantage based on an individuals choice of clothing. Jazz/dance shoes or athletic shoes (non-marking soles) are also mandatory. Dancers should wear performance hair and make-up that complements their individual style. Wearing hair down is recommended.

WHAT TO BRING

All dancers are recommended to bring a professional headshot and resume – both items will be submitted at the registration/check in table. It is also suggested to bring water, snacks, jazz shoes and athletic shoes, warm-up/sweat suit, make-up, hair spray, mirror and a towel.

FINALISTS

Finalists will be selected on Saturday, Sunday, July 13, 2019 and MUST be available for the following:

  • Photo/Video shoot TBD.
  • Boot Camp and Selection Show: Dancers will have a professional interview, learn additional choreography during the boot camp. All choreography will be performed/showcased at the final selection show.
  • *Location, time & details will be announced to our Finalists on a date to be determined.

REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age by Sunday, July 13, 2019.

  • Dance experience or professional dance training is recommended (Gymnastics skills are also a plus)
  • Schedule flexibility for rehearsals, games and appearances.
  • Must be able to attend rehearsals twice a week starting mid-August 2019.
  • Must represent the team on international trips if asked

TOTAL commitment is required to be a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves DancersAuditions will be closed to ensure a professional and relaxed atmosphere for all participants!
