Here’s the new squad unveiled just last night!

And yes, that’s former President George H. W. Bush who was on hand to congratulate the ladies.

See more photos from the unveiling here.

And watch HTC Morgan talk about the experience on NFLAM here.

So there is this contest and the winners get a $20,000 dream wedding.

And good friend of the blog former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleader Tiffany and her fiancé Devin need your vote.

So last week I posted a few goodbyes from retiring Redskins Cheerleaders. Well here’s the biggest retirement of them all.

From Redskins.com

Hello Redskins Nation –

It truly has been an honor to be a part of the best team in the NFL, and I am blessed to say that I am retiring after 10 wonderful years as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader. Being a part of the team went beyond my wildest dreams, and I cherish each and every moment of this journey. I had the chance to fulfill so many dreams in such a short amount of time, travel the world, inspire others – young and old, and dance as if no one was watching. But of course there were 90,000 plus fans watching each and every home game at FedExField , and many more from home.

It is hard to imagine not being on the sideline with my fellow teammates this upcoming season, but I will always shake my pom poms cheering on my favorite team and teammates. I first have to thank my current director, Stephanie Jojokian, and former directors, Donald Wells and Melanie Coburn for taking a chance on a young lady from Newport News, VA to be a part of such a special experience. I also want to thank all the Sideline Assistants, and special thanks to my ”mom-on-the-sideline”, Maddie for all her support.

Being a Washington Redskins Cheerleader is so much more than shaking your pom poms on the sideline. It is a sisterhood that is indescribable , it is a way to touch many lives in the DC Metropolitan community, across the country, and also overseas, and it is an experience packed full of wonderful memories. I want to give a special shout out to all the men and women that sacrifice their lives for the freedoms of our country. You guys Rock!!, and I always jumped at the opportunity to bring a piece of home to you, and I want you all to get home safely.

To my babies, the First “Little” Ladies of Football, the Junior Redskins Cheerleaders, you inspire me each and every Saturday we meet for practice, and I love watching you guys perform your halftime shows at FedExField. Thank you for all your hard work over the years and all the laughter and smiles that go with it. The great thing about this experience is that I will get to see you guys for years to come, and watch you grow into beautiful young ladies.

As I embark on a new chapter in life, I will always take a piece of each of the 150 ladies that I had the pleasure to grace the sidelines with in 10 seasons. It was great to grow together, laugh and cry together and know that I have lots of sisters to lean on. “Once A Redskins Cheerleader, Always A Redskins Cheerleader”.

My biggest Thank you goes to my friends and family! Mom, Dad, Sister & Nephew thanks for all your love, understanding & support and the long rides in the car from Newport News, VA to be here to support me. To all my Friends, you know who you are, you guys have been my rock through it all and I want to say Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Last but not least, REDSKINS FANS! HAIL TO THE REDSKINS! Thank you for all hugs and kisses on the sideline, and love from afar. The Redskins will always have a special place in my heart, and although you might not see me on the sidelines, I will still be in the building so keep a lookout for me! And here is my famous quote that I have said from the beginning of this journey…”Don’t Cry Because It’s Over, Smile Because It Happened!”

Live, Love, Laugh… and Always Dance!

A St. Louis Rams Cheerleader

The USA Cheerleaders are a professional team dedicated to serving our country and honoring those who fight for it. We have performed at amazing events including the NYC Veterans Day Parade, the New Years Eve celebrations in Times Square, BGC Charity Day, and the Wounded Warrior Project Christmas party. We have had the honor of meeting former presidents, movie stars and singers. Most importantly, we bring joy to veterans and wounded warriors and their families.

The USA Cheerleaders are divided into two teams in NY and MD. This audition day is for our Maryland team, which services the PA, DC, MD and VA areas. A separate try-out for the NY team will be announced at a later date.

Auditions are May 19th and will be located at VIP Athletics in Joppa, MD. Check in is at 12 PM. Candidates are asked to pre-register by emailing Kencheer2000@aol.com.

Take a good look around… A lot of sweet memories were made here… A lot of heart pounding practices took place just to make the team. This weekend marks the end of an era. The Honey Bees’ last home stand.

“I’ve been on this team six wonderful seasons with the Hornets, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, all the hard work all the tears, it’s been so much fun. I never really dreamed of being a professional dancer but now that I am and I’ve done it six years with my home team, it’s very special and a lot of people think it’s pretty cool” says team veteran Christina.

So go ahead, take it all in… every pom wave, hip shake and glorious hair flip…

Who else hits the court with such charisma the crowds rise even if the team is down? It’s what these ladies do best and they love what they do.

So here’s to you Honey Bees…. Thanks for the great flight!

And next year, with the new name, we’ll still love you.

“I know my personal favorite is the Fly Girls but there’s a lot of strange names, the “Pelican-cans”… I don’t know about that” says Christina.

But just the thought of no more honey bees carries a bittersweet sting.

“It’s kind of sad but I think it will be a good start to something new, the colors, the name change, I’m excited ” says first year Honey Bee Cassidy.

Washington Redskins Cheerleader Captain Susan at Saturday’s Final Auditions

Hundreds turned out, but after one very long weekend, only twenty-eight dancers advanced to the final round of the New York Jets Flight Crew Auditions. These twenty-eight ladies will be joined by returning Flight Crew veterans at the Finals in two weeks.

Here’s your first look at this year’s squad of The First Ladies of Football who were selected Saturday at the State Theatre in Falls Church, Va.
