America was the very first country to create a holiday all about being thankful. One of the best ways to do that is to help others have a good Thanksgiving, too. Yet sometimes we all need a little encouragement to get giving.

Don’t put off giving any longer. Bring a non-perishable food donation to any Ed Morse dealership and you’ll receive a 2013 Dolphins Cheerleaders Calendar. You’ll not only be filled with the warm glow of charity, but also the warm glow of… uhh, well a warm glow.

“I don’t know exactly how many years we’ve been doing it. As long as I can remember, so 15 or 20 years at least. It really started with my grandfather. We just do it to help people. We try any way we can,” says Teddy Morse, the founder’s grandson and CEO of the company’s flagship dealership, Ed Morse Bayview Cadillac. “I hate giving canned-sounding answers like that.”

Truth is, Morse doesn’t sound “canned” at all. He sounds like, well, a regular guy who just happens to run one of the largest car dealerships in South Florida, knows how lucky he is, and likes to give back where he can.

“I was blessed to be born into a family that had Thanksgiving every year, so we just want to help other people have the same,” says Morse. “Hopefully we’ll get a lot of food and people will have a nicer Thanksgiving than they would have otherwise.”

Morse knows a car dealership isn’t the kind of business people visit on a daily basis, so the 2013 Dolphins Cheerleader Calendars are just a little incentive to catch people’s attention and maybe encourage them to come in. All of the donated food will go to Feeding America, a food bank network that helps to feed more than 37 million Americans every year.

The Ed Morse food drive wraps up November 16, so if you’re hankering for one of those calendars, get in to an Ed Morse dealership soon. To give directly to Feeding America, visit their website, feedingamerica.org.

From November 26 through December 14, all Ed Morse locations will be accepting donations of unwrapped toys to be given to Toys for Tots – no word yet on whether more calendars will be given out with the toy drive. You’ll just have to wait and see.
