The Titans Cheerleaders are key to keeping the crowd and players pumped, but as FOX17 NEWS Reporter Erin Como shows us, the ladies also have challenging lives off the field. The life of a Titan’s Cheerleader may seem glamorous, but they all have jam-packed schedules, and cheer leading is only considered a part-time gig, despite all the hard work. Take a look at an average day for their captain, Stephanie.

“I typically get up between 4:30-5am,” says Stephanie. “I like to get a good workout in. Then, it’s time to wrestle my 3 year old and get her ready for school and get out the door on time. Then, after I drop her off, I do a full day at work.”

Stephanie showed us around her day job as a communications specialist at the Cracker Barrel headquarters in Lebanon.

“It’s a great job, and I love it,” says Stephanie. “Every day is different and equally as challenging.”

Also challenging: managing her time. Some nights after work, she has cheer leading practice until 10pm, and on weekend game days she arrives at the field by 8am.

“We go in for hair and makeup,” says Stephanie. “We have pregame and then we are there until the game ends.”

This is Stephanie’s 5th season cheering and her 2nd as Captain. This wife, mother and working professional is dedicated to the Titans and the Nashville community.

“I feel so blessed and so fortunate to be able to do all of this,” says Stephanie.

She says she relies on organization and a good support system to make the intense schedule work.

Here’s the date to remember for CMT’s show Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team: Friday, Nov. 2.

That’s the air date for the episode when the cheerleaders fly to Mexico for the annual Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders swimsuit calendar photo shoot.

For the current season, the CMT reality show has expanded to 11 episodes and this will be the first time the calendar shoot is included in the TV show.

The New Orleans VooDoo named former VooDoo Doll Jasmine Martijn the Director of the VooDoo Dolls, announced the front office on Monday morning.

“This is an exciting opportunity and it is something I have always wanted to do,” said Martijn. “I cannot wait to get to work, and to select the 2013 VooDoo Doll dance team. I look forward to tryouts!”

Martijn’s appointment came as Tamica Lee resigned from the position last week.

“We are extremely excited about having Jasmine back with us and in this role. She brings a lot of positive energy and excitement and is going to lead our 2013 VooDoo Dolls with class and integrity,” said Mary Ann Newman, who oversees the Dolls for the New Orleans VooDoo. “As a dancer, we were very impressed with Jasmine and we know that we will be impressed with her as a director.”

Jasmine is a former VooDoo Doll of three seasons, and was an inaugural Doll in 2004. She also served as a Doll in 2005 and was a captain and represented the VooDoo Dolls on the Dream Team at ArenaBowl XXIV in 2011. She is also a former Georgia Force cheerleader where she cheered after Hurricane Katrina in the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

Martijn has 15 years of professional dance experience ranging in Hip Hop, Jazz, Latin, and Samba. She has also danced in national music videos, danced on BET’s comic view Pardi Gras Special as well as Super Bowl Special, and danced on the E! Entertainment Special “In the Big Easy”.

The New Orleans native has served as co choreographer/instructor for cheer and dance camps, and also served as Executive Manager for Toni B’s DIVA Entertainment Productions in New Orleans from 1999-2005.

Martijn attended Southeastern Louisiana University studying Health Promotion/Exercise Science. She also attended Blue Cliff College where she earned her Massage Therapy Certification and currently is a Certified LMT.
