The North Texas Crunch are proud to introduce Julia Johnson to lead the North Texas Krunchette’s Dance Team. She brings an impressive resume and will also assist in overseeing in-game promotions and entertainment. Julia danced for the Central Hockey League’s Allen Americans Ice Angels (2010-2012), she was Miss. April in their first calendar (2010-2011), Ice Angel of the Year (2010-2011), Captain and only veteran for the Allen Americans Ice Angels (2011-2012) and Named “CHL Best Cheerleading team/Dance Team for two years straight (2010-2012). As an Allen Americans Ice Angel, she not only danced during the time-outs of each period and performed during the intermissions but also would go on the ice during some time-outs and intermissions to interact with the fans and get the crowd pumped.

The Harrisburg Heat, proud member of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL), announced on Tuesday the return of the Heat Dance Team for the 2012-13 season. The Heat will hold open auditions for the dance team beginning in October at Sports City, the Heat’s official training facility in Harrisburg. The Heat Dance Team will perform during Heat home games at The Farm Show and represent the team at public appearances throughout Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania.

Prospective Heat Dance Team members are asked to attend a Pre-Audition Workshop on Saturday, October 13 from 9:30am to noon at Sports City Harrisburg. Subsequently, the team will hold two open auditions on Saturday, October 20 and Saturday, October 27; also at Sports City from 1pm to 4pm. The final audition (by invitation only) will be held on Sunday, October 28. All candidates must be at least 18 years of age and no longer in high school. The Heat Dance Team will be led by Ginelle Ophelia of Hamburg, PA. Ophelia, who also serves as the head dance team coach of the Harrisburg Stampede, brings years of dance and teaching experience. She teaches Hip Hop at Golds Gym in Wyomissing, PA and dance at Horizon’s Dance Conservatory. “I look forward to utilizing my leadership skills and unique experiences to bring fans a new kind of HEAT,” commented Ophelia.

Former Hot Shot Heat dancer Nicole Howard will serve as the Assistant Dance Team Coach. Howard is currently the Director of Cheerleading for the Warwick School District, as well as a trainer at Aftershock Dance Studio.

“The Heat are excited to bring back the dance team, that will reach out to the community throughout the calendar year, providing positive role models for young women by representing our organization with pride and respect. We are looking for dancers with intelligence, talent and beauty who want to represent the Heat brand in the community,” said Justin Windsor, Director of Community Relations and Social Media for the Heat.

The Wichita Falls Nighthawks Cheerleaders are an elite squad that will consist of dedicated dancers and ambassadors of the Wichita Falls Nighthawks, professional minor league football playing at Memorial Stadium in Wichita Falls, Texas

AUDITIONS: Saturday & Sunday | October 20 & 21, 2012
TIME: Registration begins at 8:30am | Auditions will begin promptly at 9am
LOCATION: Wichita Falls Country Club | 1701 Hamilton Boulevard Wichita Falls, TX 76308

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
Team members must have flexible schedule for weekly rehearsals, games, and appearances starting immediately after making the squad.
Candidates are encouraged to preregister because space may become limited.

WHAT TO WEAR:
2-piece attire (dance/athletic bra top and hot pants)
no tank tops or bike shorts
Jazz, dance shoes or athletic shoes are also mandatory
You should wear performance make-up and your hair down.

WHAT TO BRING:
Identification
Walk-Up Applicants: $35 Registration Fee (cash only)
Suggestions: make-up, hair spray, mirror, towel

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Dancers will learn a stylized jazz combination and perform in small groups in front of a panel of judges. There will be a cut made before reaching our group of finalists which are based on their dance ability, showmanship, physical fitness, and crowd appeal. Finalists will participate in a group interview & an individual performance (6 count of 8).
