The Washington Kastles are the undefeated champions of the 2011 World Team Tennis season. The secret to their success? Well they got top players and coaches, but it might also have something to do with the Washington Kastles Cheerleaders who are under the direction of our good friend Donald Wells.
Last month I hopped down to DC to check out the new Kastles Stadium and the 2011 version of the Kastles Cheerleaders.

We mentioned earlier that Orlando Predators Prowler Gizelle is representing her squad on the Arena Bowl XXIV Dream Team. She's also just made the Orlando Magic Dancers. Congratulations Gizelle!
Auditions for the 2011-12 Washington Wizard Girls got underway bright and early Saturday morning at the Verizon Center
The Wizard Girls don't have a Director at the moment. So a couple of our friends came all the way from Houston to help with the tryouts. Derric directs the Houston Rockets Space City Senior Dancers and the Houston Energy Cheerleaders. Megan danced for the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets before ending her career with the Texans Cheerleaders.
Fifty guest judges (season ticket holders, radio contest winners, facebook friends) weighed in on hopefuls during the first round.

Long day at the Verizon Center on Saturday. It all started at 8am with Wizard Girl registration and long about 5:30pm, the new squad had been selected. I’ll have to ask Sasha when was the last time an NBA team finished their auditions in just one day.
But it’s not completely over. Later the Wizards will open up to fan voting the selection for the 20th Wizard Girl.
Sixers Dancers Finals took place back on July 13th at Chickie's & Pete's
And unlike other venues that host auditions, there's no stage at Chickie's & Pete's they dance right on the floor.

Earlier this month Major League Lacrosse held it’s annual All Star Game at Harvard Stadium, home of the Boston Cannons. As they do at all Cannons home games, the Boston Cannons Dance Team provided entertainment on the sideline and stunning performances on the field.
