Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader Natalie Strong apparently has a talent when it comes to turning everyday household items into interesting games.
Strong, a four-year Falcons cheerleader, taped an episode as a contestant on NBC’s popular game show Minute to Win It. Her episode is set to air at 8 pm EDT Wednesday.
“Having the opportunity to appear on Minute to Win It would never have been possible without the love and encouragement of the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, our amazing coaches and the world class Falcons organization,” Strong said. “I am so very blessed to be a part of such a supportive and giving organization.
“I know that each and every Falcons fan will want to tune in to NBC Wednesday night at 8 p.m. to see me take my chance in the 60-second circle. We have the best fans in the league, and I am so honored to have been able to represent my squad, the Falcons organization and our amazing fans on national TV.”
Minute to Win It features games using regular household items that need to be completed or won in less than 60 seconds. The show consists of 10 different games, and contestants have a chance to win up to $1 million. As the money value goes up, so does the difficulty level of each game. The show is hosted by Guy Fieri of Food Network fame.
Some of the possible games include stacking seven Ding Dongs on a contestant’s forehead and removing all the tissues from a tissue box with one hand.
The Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League will be holding auditions to identify candidates for the Pirates 2010-11 Sun Tan City Ice Girls Team as well as individuals to perform as Crackers or Salty Pete, the Pirates team mascots, during games and community appearances.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 5th at 9 a.m. at the Portland Ice Arena, located at 225 Park Avenue.
Candidates for the Sun Tan City Ice Girls Team must be prepared to commit to volunteering their time for a 40-game schedule from October-April as well as several non-game night appearances. The ability to skate is preferred, as is previous dancing, cheerleading and/or theater experience. Ideal candidates must be energetic, willing to interact with fans and be comfortable hosting and/or assisting with in-game presentations on camera and microphone in front of large crowds. Candidates must dress in comfortable workout clothes and provide their own skates for the audition.
Auditions will also be held to perform as one of the Pirates two mascots during the 2010-11 season. Candidates must be able to skate comfortably in the mascot costume, must be energetic, in good physical condition and willing to interact with fans and large crowds during the course of a 40-game home schedule in addition to several non-game night appearances.

The Crunch seek energetic, outgoing and physically fit people who have a passion for Syracuse Crunch hockey. The Mirabito Ice Girls team plays a key role in enhancing the Crunch game experience by greeting fans, assisting with on-ice and in-game promotions and helping to ensure Crunch fans have an outstanding game experience.
Candidates will sit with judges for a brief interview to showcase their personality and be taught a short dance routine which they will be asked to perform. All performers must wear form-fitting clothing, in good taste, and sneakers or dance shoes. Make-up and hair must be performance ready.

MANILA, Philippines – A half-Filipino is among the Miami Heat Dancers who are in the country to dazzle NBA and PBA fans with their moves and grooves in the NBA Asia Challenge 2010.
Filipino-Mexican “Maria”, whose mother is a full-blooded Filipino, said she is elated to be back in the Philippines.
More than anything else, it is Filipino cuisine which Maria misses the most.
“I miss the food. I miss the culture,” she told reporters at the Fiesta San Miguel restaurant in Dusit Thani Manila Hotel on Tuesday.
“It’s great,” Maria said. “I’m really glad to be back.”
Six of the 25 Miami Heat Dancers will perform at the NBA exhibition event at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Friday.
Maria is joined by Shara, Taryn, Shea, Natalie and Natalia.
“It’s just such an honor,” Shara said of being invited to be part of the NBA Asia Challenge.
Just like Maria, Natalia is very excited to try Filipino dishes.
Shea, meantime, added that fans can look forward to watching “vibrant and energetic girls.”
She revealed that their routine will have a little bit of salsa from Miami as well as hip-hop.
Their “7th member” of the Miami Heat was also introduced during the press conference on Tuesday. It is no other than Burnie, the Miami Heat mascot.
Prior to the exhibition game on Friday, NBA Asia had lined up various activities for the players and fans.
The events scheduled on Wednesday are the NBA Cares Basketball Clinic, NBA Read to Achieve Activity, Team Practices and NBA Fan Day and Media Availability.
The venue for Wednesday’s activities is the Araneta Coliseum except for the storytelling activity which will be held at the nearby Ali Mall Activity Center.
The Coors Light NBA Pop-A-Shot Tour will be held Wednesday night at Metrowalk in Ortigas, Pasig City.
On Thursday, the NBA Asia Challenge Mall Tour will take place at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
There will also be a Habitat for Humanity build in Caloocan City on Saturday morning.

The Austin Toros announced that auditions for the 2010-11 Capital City Dancers will take place on September 11-14. Preliminary auditions are September 11th at 24 Hour Fitness at Parmer Lane from noon to 6 p.m. The semi-final round on September 12th consists of personal interviews, and finals take place at Aces Lounge on Tuesday, Sept. 14th beginning at 7 p.m. The final round is free and open to the public.
Capital City Dance team members perform at all Austin Toros home games and participate in community activities throughout the year.
Participants must be 18 years or older and a high school graduate. Dancers must be able to attend all rehearsals and games, and have a reliable source of transportation. Participants will be judged on dance technique and style, showmanship, and physical and personal appearance.
Pre-registration is $25 through September 3rd, on-site registration is $35 and subject to availability.
