One of the challenges of assembling a convention of Pro Cheerleaders and Dancers from across the sports world is that somewhere there’s always being a game played. That was the case with the Jacksonville Axe Men rugby team. A game was scheduled the same day that P-R-O opened, so only two Axe Maidens and Director Darlene Clancy could attend.

The Houston Energy Dancers cheer for the Women’s Professional Football League Houston Energy.

Due to some scheduling issues and some anxiety about flying, the squad drove from Houston to Atlanta. Director Derric Whitfield piled 7 of his dancers into his Tahoe for the 12-hour trip to P-R-O.

Derric might look like he’s sleepy, after all he did 2/3rd of the driving, but really this is just he best shot I have of him (even though his eyes are closed).

This was Derric’s first P-R-O Convention as an instructor, but he did attend back in 2007 when he was a member of the WNBA Houston Comets Team NRG.

After the bikini and uniform photo shoots, the hopefuls put on their audition outfits. Sunday afternoon the dancers would learn sideline routines taught by Wizard Girl Alumni. For the final audition they would perform not only the sideline routines, but the two routines taught on Saturday.

Alumni Heather (Redskins Pro Bowl Cheerleader) and Natalie (SD Charger Girl) taught some of the sideline routines.
