energeet1The general public should keep in mind that in addition to the incredible time sacrifices that professional cheerleaders and dancers make, there’s always the risk of physical injury.

Tisiphani, a captain and three-year veteran, of the Bucks Energee! dance team, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her knee during practice last week.

The injury will be keep her sidelined the remainder of the season.

We wish Tisiphani a full and speedy recovery.

The Orlando Magic Dancers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders made a joint appearance at ESPN: The Weekend, last month. And the FOX Orlando TV affiliate has quite a few photos of the two squads.

Do you recognize these uniforms?

That’s actually a photo of the Baltimore Blast Cheerleaders from Friday night. For their halftime performance and in the second half the dancers wore the ISL (Bermuda’s Island Soccer League) Cheerleader uniforms.

The Blast Cheerleaders have been quite busy. Friday night after the game, they were attending a très chic VIP Cheerleader party, organized by Director Elizabeth “Liz” Guaraldo.

On Saturday during the day half the squad was at Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders tryouts, while the other half, who are members of the Baltimore Mariners Cheerleaders, were having their uniform shoot.

Saturday night there was another Blast game followed by a guest bartending gig. And on Sunday (today!) six Cheerleaders were at callbacks for the Ravens Cheerleaders.

It doesn’t get any easier. Next weekend the Blast play Friday and Saturday nights, and the Mariners play Sunday afternoon.

The overlap of the two season is especially tough on “Liz” who on Wednesdays has to run Blast Cheerleader practice. Then when it’s over, she hops in her car and she’s off the Mariners Cheerleaders practice.

Oh, yeah and my computer’s fixed.

Last Saturday, Reading’s Berkshire Mall was the site of the unveiling of the 2010 Smokin’ Hot Steam Team. The ladies had a chance to introduce themselves to the fans, perform a few routines and helped younger fans in a dance contest.

The Steam Team will take the field at the Express first home game on Sunday, March 21st.
