Sacramento Kings Dancers are all set to do Bollywood routines during the 2014-15 NBA season, and guiding them is Bollywood dance choreographer Joya Kazi.

The dancing will be a fusion of traditional movements from dance forms like Kathak and contemporary Bollywood dance steps.

“I am from the bay area. I went to school at UC Davis. Being able to come here and share my culture with a community that I know is mine is so incredible. And it just brings all the worlds together. Our cultures are bridging and it makes for a great community. At the end of the day an awesome entertainment section to all our games, ” says Kazi.

Kings Dancers are an integral part of the team’s in-game entertainment and are actively involved in making a positive impact locally and globally.

The Philadelphia 76ers today announced that the Sixers Dancers, presented by Parx Casino®, will wear an exclusive dress created by legendary fashion designer Nicole Miller for the 2014-15 season.

The Sixers Dancers Signature Dress by Nicole Miller will be formally unveiled in a ceremony on Wednesday, October 22 at 12:00 p.m. at the Nicole Miller Philadelphia store (The Bellevue, 200 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, Pa.).

Details about the look will be posted by the Philadelphia 76ers, Sixers Dancers and Nicole Miller on their respective social media accounts in the weeks leading up to the unveiling (list of accounts provided at the end of this release).

“Nicole Miller is an internationally-respected designer and iconic brand with strong ties to the Philadelphia region,” said Sixers CEO Scott O’Neil. “Her dresses define class, confidence and are undeniably influential in our city, making her the perfect partner in creating a new look for the Sixers Dancers.”

“I am excited about this partnership because the story of the Sixers Dancers goes hand in hand with our latest campaign, which is based around the tag line ‘you don’t have to wear a suit to feel strong,’” said Nicole Miller. “I think this group of young women really exemplify that motto. They are strong, confident, and driven.”

The Sixers Dancers will showcase the dress on the court during pregame introductions and the National Anthem, as well as at select off-court appearances throughout the season. The Sixers collaborated locally with Mary Dougherty of Nicole Miller Philadelphia and Nicole Miller’s corporate team to create the exclusive look.
