Ultimate Cheerleaders

Yesterday I posted about the finalists for the 2012-13 Orlando Magic Dancers. Well, I have some more goodies for you today. There’s a lot of cool audition-related stuff on the Magic website, so make sure you check that out: There’s an interesting article, a photo gallery, Some cute trivia about the finalists, and loads of video.

Plus, there is still time to vote!

And finally, a little more scoop for you. I mentioned that finalist Tiffany was a Dolphins Cheerleader for four seasons.

There are also a few other notables in the finalist group:
Brittany, Nicole, & Melissa are alumni of the Orlando Predators Prowlers dance team

Ashley S was a Miami Marlins Mermaid (unfortunately that team is defunct as of this year, so maybe this will be another chance for her to do some dancing)

Marissa was a member of City Girls, the dance team for Orlando City Soccer

Jamie was a Cleveland Cavalier Girl for seasons

We also have a veteran who is trying to make a comeback after a 4 year Hiatus. Candace was on the team from 2004-07, and retired in order to go after her nursing degree full force. Now she’s a full fledged R.N. and she wants back in. Her sister Heather has been a Magic Dancer for 2 seasons, and is also a finalist this year. If both Candace and Heather make it, it will be their first time to be on the team together at the same time, so fingers crossed for the two of them!

The competition for a spot on the 2012-13 Orlando Magic Dancers has been narrowed down to 30. (And unless I am very much mistaken, one of those 30 is Miami Dolphins Cheerleader alum Tiffany P.) Now the team is asking for your input to determine who makes the squad.

Click here to watch videos of each dancer’s audition, and cast your vote (no registration required, thank goodness). Do it quick – Finals are Thursday night!

(I’m not entirely sure how much bearing this has on finals. As far as I can tell, you can vote as much as you want. I must’ve voted ten or twelve times, just to see what would happen.)

Finals will be streamed live (at 7pm, I assume) on Spurs.com/live. Good luck to all the finalists!

New cheerleader bios and head shots have been posted on the Cincinnati Bengals Website! Click here to read up on the team.

And if I may vent for a moment (in a completely loving, non-aggressive, non-confrontational way): Yo Bengals – what is UP with these photos? You did this last year, too. I guess head shots are fine, but we want to see the uniform. The uniform is what distinguishes you as a team. Without the orange and black, you could be any group of women anywhere. That is all.

(Sorry James. I have the feeling the Ben-Gals are going to hate us after this. I tried to hold it in, but it had to be said.)

The 2012 DBC squad is now online. Click here to check out their bios on DenverBroncos.com,

Note: A few of the links on the cheerleader roster are broken. Here’s how to get to the photos for the girls with broken links. (They’ll have to fix it before we can see the bios.)

Oxnard, Calif.— The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders hosted a camp Sunday [7/28] for local youth of Oxnard, Calif., the host city for Dallas Cowboys Training Camp 2012.

More than 300 young ladies, ages 7 to 18, were able to join in on the world-renown dance team’s Camp DCC at Pacifica High School. Participating youth were pre-selected from local outreach and afterschool programs supported by The Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Clubs, Ventura County Rescue Mission’s Lighthouse for Women and Children, Camp Goalz, Tutor Time and other local cheer teams and academies. Youth representing military families at Point Mugu and Point Hueneme were also invited to participate.

Camp attendees were broken up into age groups and spent the afternoon learning cheers and a dance routine from members of the 2012 DCC squad. Camp participants received a complimentary Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders camp t-shirt, autographs and a very special visit by ROWDY, the official mascot of the Dallas Cowboys. The day ended with campers showing off their routines to parents and friends, and also a special performance by America’s Sweethearts, themselves.
