The Los Angeles Clippers had a home game on Halloween, so I trotted over there to see what the Spirit Dance Team had planned for the holiday. Those girls never disappoint me, and Halloween was no exception! Click here for bunches of photos from the game.

Brittany was a sailor girl

Nicole was a German girl

Teresa as a Ninja Turtle and Bianca as a toy soldier

Andi as a rocker chick

Chelsea as a race car driver

Jocelyn as Cat Woman and Rhea as Lady Gaga

Kellie dressed as a cupcake

The dancers handed out candy before the game

Recee did an on-camera spot with some kids before the game

During the game, the Spirit Dancers tore it up as usual

Best of all, this time, I got VIDEO! Woohoo!
(Actually, I got two videos, but like a moron, I went to the wrong side of the court for one of them…)

The Clippers Jr. Jam also performed in their Halloween costumes

Good times!

The dancers weren’t the only ones getting into the holiday. Clippers Forward Ryan Gomes showed off his own Halloween spirit. (I totally got in trouble for taking this photo because I had my flash on and you’re not supposed to do that during the game. Sorry! I forgot! I’m human, ok?)

I won’t do it again.

But I’m glad I did it that time.
Mmwahahahahahaha ha ha ha….

The International Olympic Committee has started a new boxing league called the World Series of Boxing. The WSB will be an annually recurring, global competition featuring franchises in three regional conferences: Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Each region will initially be comprised of four city-based franchises, and each franchise will field a squad of 10 boxers across five weight classes. One of the four teams representing the Americas is the Los Angeles Matadors. In addition to getting the athletes in shape, the Matadors are putting together an entertainment package that will keep fans actively engaged in each event. The team hired Whitney Frink (Director of the AVP Dancers, former Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader) to put together a team of talented dancers to perform in the ring between matches and act as Ring Girls between rounds. It promises to be a fun opportunity!

Profiles, uniform shots, and wallpapers are now online for the Celtics Dancers. Click here to go there now.

I was so glad to see the site was updated because I went to the Celtics Dancer LA Auditions back in July and I’ve been sitting on the photos, waiting to see if any of our local girls made the team. And now we know how it turned out: Amanda and Courtney, two dancers who auditioned here over the summer made the team. Congrats, girls!

Click here to see how they, and the other candidates, tore up the dance floor for the judges.

The Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders participated in the 12th Annual Women in Distress SAFEWALK-RUN 5K at Markham park. As honorary chairs they assisted in the promotion and awareness of the walk, as well as leading the group warm-ups and announcing the race winners. Over 1,200 individuals showed up at 7:30 a.m. to run or walk in the 5K and support the cause to end domestic violence. McKenzie, one of the cheerleaders who ran the 5K, placed third in the women’s division.

“I have enjoyed running for a few years now, it helps keep me in shape while I am cheering during the season,” McKenzie said. “Plus it is so much fun to run a 5K with your friends on the team; we stay motivated knowing that it is all to support a great cause! It was moving for me to see the silent witness memorials at the event, which were silhouettes of victims deceased. Knowing that the funds provided by the 5K will help finance the new WID facility which will give shelter to families troubled by domestic violence, made me realize that we can make a difference in the local community simply by participating. Hearing my name announced, that I placed in the race portion was a bonus!”
