NASHVILLE, Tenn – The annual Cheers to Robin event benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is coming up on April 29th. The event will feature local celebrities participating in celebrity trivia and is sure to be an eventful evening. Co-sponsoring the event with the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders is Jennifer Hill, a Titans Cheerleader alumnus who is campaigning to be this year’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Woman of the Year.
Jennifer is former captain for the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders and served as the team’s Pro Bowl nominee in 2007. Currently she is an Engineer at Nissan North America and her community activities include numerous worthy causes, among them are serving as the co-leader for Mt. Zion Baptist Church Dance Ministry as well as the Events Coordinator for the Tennessee Titans Cheerleading Alumnae Group. Her desire to help the community was perpetuated during her 5 year career as a Titans Cheerleader. As she moved from her role as a Titans Cheerleader to a professional career, she became more involved with a group the Cheerleaders work with closely, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Jennifer explains her commitment to the organization, stating, “Now, I am committed to assisting with research and resources that will help destroy a disease that has devastated so many families.”
The Man and Woman of the Year contests looks to name a Man and Woman of the year based on philanthropic donations the candidate receives through his or her campaign. Each dollar counts as one vote and goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help fight the diseases through multiple means. Last year, through campaigns for Man and Woman of the Year, candidates in Middle Tennessee raised over $200,000 and candidates across the nation raised over $7 million. This year, Jennifer’s personal goal is $35,000.
To support Jennifer in her efforts and help her reach her goal you can attend several upcoming events where Titans Cheerleaders and other local celebrities will join her in raising money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Jen’s Drive for a Cure Golf Tournament on April 24th will benefit her campaign. Additionally, the annual Cheers to Robin: Classy Celebrity Trivia will be held April 29th, hosted by the Titans Cheerleaders and Jennifer Hill. Congratulations ladies!
Our friend Albert in Texas came through like a champ once again. This time, it’s a two-fer. We’ve got the Snake Charmers, dance team for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, and a few shots of the Houston Rockets Power Dancers, who were in town for special appearances. Albert has a tone of great photos – too many for us to post here. Check this out, and then click here to see more of the Snake Charmers, and click here to see more of the Power Dancers!

There are some nervous girls up in Cincy today, auditioning for the Ben-Gals. I can’t wait to find out how it went. In the mean time, our favorite Ben-Gal Teresha sent over a few photos from their audition clinics. Will any of these dancers make it through to the next round? Wait and see!
The Phoenix Suns Dancers make a repeat appearance in this year’s Sports Illustrated NBA dance team gallery. Click here to see the dancers in action on game day.
The newest edition of the San Diego Charger Girls were selected last night, following several rounds of competitive auditions.
Kasey Ashley has already made it through the first few rounds of auditions for a spot on the squad.

YORKTOWN — Kasey Ashley, 18, had only about 30 minutes to learn the new dance before she was put to the test. Her number, 247, was called first to go before the judges along with four other women. This was it, make it or break it.
It was both nerve-wracking and exciting for the Yorktown High School senior. She was performing in front of judges who scrutinized everything from her dance moves to her hair, make-up and, yes, the darkness of her tan.
Ashley, along with 299 other women, were trying out to be an Indianapolis Colts cheerleader. The final squad contains only 32 women, and everyone has to try out, so Kasey was going up against women who had performed at the Super Bowl.
She did well, and made the cut, one of only 100 women who advanced. The next rounds of tryouts continue this week.
Her mom Lisa was waiting in the car for her when she got a text from her daughter that she’d advanced.
“I just sobbed,” she said. “Good sobs. We’re very proud of her, she’s got a great head on her shoulders.”
Lisa said that she and her husband, Mike, support their children in all they do. Jake, their high school sophomore is a football player, and Mikala their seventh-grader, also is a cheerleader.
“We try to make it to all of their events,” she said.
But would they be able to make it to all those Colts home games?
“You can count on it,” she said with a big smile.
Having spent her entire high school career on the cheerleading squad, Kasey Ashley doesn’t want to say good-bye to the sport when she graduates. Plus she sees being a Colts cheerleader as an opportunity to help her learn to be a better coach in years to come. She hopes to eventually teach elementary school and coach her own squad.
In her spare time, Ashley likes to hang out with her family and friends — not that she has a lot of spare time. She’s the senior class president and the student council secretary, participates in the annual dance marathon to benefit Riley Hospital for Children, has played softball and participated in Kick-off Mentoring.
She’ll be performing in Colts cheerleader tryouts again tonight (April 15) and hopes to make the cut again. Those who make it through this round of the audition process will go on to compete at a Runway Show on May 5, where the final selections will be made.
Voting is open online at www.colts.com for the public’s favorite cheerleader. As of Tuesday morning, Ashley was in fifth place on the leaderboard. To vote for Kasey Ashley, look for number 247. And maybe the next time you watch a Colts came you’ll be able to see her on the field.
