Checking in with the San Antonio Roses

Our friend Albert checks in from San Antone:

The San Antonio Roses cheered on the San Antonio Warriors’ football team in a charity game at Heroes Stadium on Dec. 5. Admission to the game was one unwrapped toy per person to go to the U.S. Marines’ Toys For Tots foundation. The Roses, who also showcased some new faces to the group, braved some pretty cold temperatures during the first half but still sizzled on the sideline in front of an impressive crowd and during halftime. The Warriors, of the Minor Professional Football League, lost to Texas United Football League’s Killeen Knights, 12-7. Still, the fans’ spirits were high thanks to these beautiful and talented women.

The Warriors and the cheerleaders begin their Minor Professional Football League season in the spring of 2011 with all games scheduled at this North East ISD football stadium.

San Antonio Warriors Cheerleaders

Our buddy Albert in Texas always sends us great photos of the dance teams in his neck of the woods. This week, he got some great coverage of the San Antonio Roses, one of our favorite independent pro sports dance teams. He caught up with the team during one of their gigs as the San Antonio Warriors Cheerleaders on May 8th. The SA Warriors are part of the MPFL (Minor Professional Football League) and their cheerleaders perform at home games and make numerous appearances in San Antonio and the surrounding counties.

Albert used to send us just a handful of photos, but he’s got so many great ones, how do you pick which ones to show here? The answer is: we don’t. Why impose a limit? Just click here and go see all of them 🙂 Thanks, Albert!

The 2010 San Antonio Roses performed at the first intermission of the San Antonio Rampage hockey game on December 18, 2009. The fans enjoyed the performance and dancing in the center of the ice rink was quite an experience for the Roses. Former DCC and San Antonio Roses Director is Mrs. San Antonio United America 2009

Cynthia Trinidad, former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and San Antonio Spurs Dancer, is the current regaining Mrs. San Antonio United America 2009. She is also the director of the San Antonio Roses, an Independent Professional Cheerleading Squad that also doubles as Semi-Pro Cheerleaders for the San Antonio Warriors of the NMLF.

Cynthia Trinidad

One of the reasons she decided to run in this pageant was to be a role model and to lead by example for her squad and daughter. After judging and choreographing pageants, she found that much of her professional cheerleading background and experience applied to many of the same standards and requirements for being a pageant title holder.

Before wining a title she worked with pageant delegates going over tips and trained them in eveningwear walking, stage presence and interview. She also choreographed talent routines for individuals. Her squad attended many appearances and events that are ideal for an appearance as a pageant tile holder. This encouraged her to run for the title of Mrs. San Antonio which she won.

Many of her squad members have gone on to perform on other professional sports teams and some are current or past title pageant holders. One of her former squad members was Pricilla Garcia, Miss San Antonio America 2008.

She hopes her squad will learn that they can always follow their dreams and keep striving to better themselves. If their director can do it, so can they.

Mrs. San Antonio will be going for the title of Mrs. Texas United America 2009 in the state capital in Austin , Texas on June 6 and 7 of this year.
