Checking in with the San Antonio Roses

Our friend Albert checks in from San Antone:

The San Antonio Roses cheered on the San Antonio Warriors’ football team in a charity game at Heroes Stadium on Dec. 5. Admission to the game was one unwrapped toy per person to go to the U.S. Marines’ Toys For Tots foundation. The Roses, who also showcased some new faces to the group, braved some pretty cold temperatures during the first half but still sizzled on the sideline in front of an impressive crowd and during halftime. The Warriors, of the Minor Professional Football League, lost to Texas United Football League’s Killeen Knights, 12-7. Still, the fans’ spirits were high thanks to these beautiful and talented women.

The Warriors and the cheerleaders begin their Minor Professional Football League season in the spring of 2011 with all games scheduled at this North East ISD football stadium.

San Antonio Warriors Cheerleaders

Our buddy Albert in Texas always sends us great photos of the dance teams in his neck of the woods. This week, he got some great coverage of the San Antonio Roses, one of our favorite independent pro sports dance teams. He caught up with the team during one of their gigs as the San Antonio Warriors Cheerleaders on May 8th. The SA Warriors are part of the MPFL (Minor Professional Football League) and their cheerleaders perform at home games and make numerous appearances in San Antonio and the surrounding counties.

Albert used to send us just a handful of photos, but he’s got so many great ones, how do you pick which ones to show here? The answer is: we don’t. Why impose a limit? Just click here and go see all of them 🙂 Thanks, Albert!

San Antonio Warriors Cheerleader Calendar

swarriors

The San Antonio Warriors Cheerleaders of the MPFL San Antonio Warrior Football Organization are debuting their inaugural 2010-2011 11×17 month calendar. It will be the first calendar of its type in San Antonio Semi-Pro Football cheerleader history and could very well be the first in pro cheerleader history in San Antonio Texas . The calendar will include all 15 current San Antonio Warrior cheerleaders in full color, full page spreads featuring settings and outfits from tropical swimsuit to Texas country.

Director Cynthia Trinidad oversaw production and was herself a Miss February in the 1991 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader calendar. The calendars will be available at the remaining 2010 Warrior home games and playoffs and will be available online at www.saroses.com.

Cynthia Trinidad has been a member of and has directed numerous squads, and has been involved in the semi-pro and pro cheerleader industry in San Antonio since 1980. She says, “We made one poster-style single page calendar in 2003 and sold it at one game, but as far as I know this is the first full color multiple page semi or pro cheerleader swimsuit type calendar in San Antonio Sports History”.
