Lakers Fan Jam to include Laker Girls, Lamar Odom, Ron Artest, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

The perks include court-side seats for Lakers games — something that’s usually reserved just for the likes of Jack Nicholson — and everyday interactions with the team. But Jensen says that a highlight of being a Laker Girl includes interacting with fans at community events.
That means she’s looking forward to this weekend. The Laker Girls are just one feature of the team’s first ever Fan Jam, which takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Saturday (10 a.m. to 10 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) The second day leads up to the Lakers’ 6:30 p.m. game with Washington at Staples Center.
Among the highlights? Lakers forwards Lamar Odom and Ron Artest will try to break the Guinness Book of World Records mark of 10 made free throws by a pair in a minute’s time. The record is held by Dennis Cheng and Simone Benn of Britain, set on Feb. 13. All players from the team will be there to sign autographs. Fans can take pictures with the 2009 championship trophy. Notable members of the Lakers organization will also be there, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, A.C. Green, Norm Nixon, Marge Hearn and Jeanie Buss, said the team’s director of game operations and entertainment, Lisa Estrada. [Article continued…]
