Introducing the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders 2010
Preseason WEEK 1 – Houston Texans @ ARIZONA CARDINALS

No coincidence the AZ Cards built an air-conditioned wonder dome in Phoenix. Everyday in the Valley of the Sun, temperatures are 110F everyday, nobody wants to be outside if they don’t have to. Consider that we have rejected daylight savings time! One more hour of extra heat? Forget about it! So yes, finally after months of summer scorch, we have reached the start of NFL preseason. Football is back baby!!

So what is new for 2010 with the Arizona Cardinals? The answer – NEW UNIFORMS! At the AZ Cards draft party last April, the football players were seen styling their new black “3rd jersey” uniform. In the second half of the first preseason game last Saturday, the girls came out in ravishing in ruby red suits for a halftime performance. Turnover was pretty high during the off-season for both the football team and the cheerleaders. Of the teams 8 best football players from last year, only 4 of them are still here. Of the cheerleaders who returned this season, we’re just glad that all the best veteran cheerleaders are back and already the rookies are showing star potential.

GAME REPORT: The Arizona Cardinals is a team in transition. Yes, the last two seasons have been glorious as back-to-back NFC West Division banners have been hung in the rafters. Inconceivable! The game was a nightmare for the starters looking very lethargic out there! But oh by the way, the Cards won 19-16 when 3rd string football rookies scored three late TDs to send everyone home satisfied.

amy

There Is Something About Amy. This Pro Bowl cheerleader leads her line with expert dance precision.

tatum

Rookie Tatum makes her University of Phoenix Stadium debut. Finally after all the months of training – finally its time for the fun stuff!

dionna

kaylee

It was fun to see all the pretty new faces on this years team like Dionna & Kaylee.

kristi

Kristi has been a longtime jumbotron fixture at Jobing.com arena with the NHL Phoenix Coyotes. Its nice to see her across the street cheering the NFL.

marcie

Captain Marcie gets the crowd fired up even though this is an exhibition game

michelle

Michelle hair flies during a timeout. She exuberates the joy of performance.

taryn

Captain Taryn models the brand new 2010 uniform. Its an inverse color scheme to the previous but main color cardinal red with new accent touches.

tarynback

Voila, the reverse view – the side cross-stitching resembles a checker pattern like a racing girl tracksuit.

kimberly

Rookie Kimberly turns her back to the football team returns to the field, they were shut out 13-0 in the first half.

tamar-brittany

Captain Tamar leads her line with flair. I remember first seeing her on a scorching 110F day dancing on the sidelines at Sun Devil Stadium!

allie

Thunderball Allie is always spirited. The smile sparkles always at gameday!

kristen-b

kristen-p

The Kristens flash their pompoms during a timeout. Obviously the low rows on the corner sidelines at NFL games is the happiest place in the stadium.

amanda

Rookie Amanda cheers as the Cards score a 4th quarter TD to take the lead 19-16. Even though half the fans have already gone home the crowd is brought to life.

Personal note: I have always frowned when I read articles / blogs where the journalist misguides the focus on themselves rather than the subject! Even if topic is about pro-cheerleaders, I suppose there is always the temptation to put the focus on the author? OK maybe just this one time, I thought I would share this photo of me – very lucky to get a picture of myself on JUMBOTRON. Yes it has been quite a while since I’ve contributed so yay for me. Wheres Waldo drowning in the red sea? Unrelated, I thought that I’d mention my neighbor behind me wearing #24 jersey is Big Jim. He owns the Tessios Pizza near Mill Ave at ASU. Finding “Captain Cardinal” in his cape every game is not so hard, unless you figure there are four of them.

Sidenote: I have vowed to the publisher of Ultimate Cheerleaders James that I will put forward a full-season effort to be Arizona correspondent. My apologies that I have not been around for a while.
