Chargers Cut The Giants Down To Size
This past Sunday, the New York Giants were in town to play the San Diego Chargers in a must win game for both teams. It was a cold day with temperatures in the mid-50’s, but the Chargers’ play on the field was hot as Philip Rivers threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Mathews rushed for 103 yards and the Chargers defense managed to keep the Giants offense in check for most of the day, intercepting two Eli Manning passes.
Final Score: Surging Chargers – 37, G-men – 14.
With the loss, Eli Manning is 0-3 against the team he turned his back on in the 2004 NFL draft. This was sweet revenge for Charger fans who remember the Manning family’s refusal to play in San Diego, but keeping their slim playoff hopes alive was more meaningful. And with the win, they did…at least for another week and that’s something to celebrate.
It was Junior Charger Girl day at Qualcomm Stadium and there were hundreds of little Charger Girls who braved the cold to cheer their hearts out for the fans. In addition to performing on Sunday, they raised thousands of dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Chargers Community Foundation.
Okay, let’s begin this week’s gigantic coverage with the Captains: Katelyn, Natalie, Ariel, and Kara.
This week’s Charger Girl of the Day is a former Pro Bowl Representative (2011) of the Seattle Sea Gals and a cheerleader that I was fortunate enough to photograph at the 2011 PRO Convention in Atlanta. And now she can add the title of Charger Girl of the Day to her list of accomplishments…introducing Nicole, a first year Charger Girl.
Originally from Seattle, but she’s ours now!
Let’s begin this week’s regular coverage of the ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS Charger Girls with Katelyn’s line: CGOTD Nicole, Courtney, Kayla, Brianna, Clarisse, and Jennifer.
We continue our parade of Charger Girls with Natalie’s line: Jessica, Shelbi, Karissa, Meridith, Hope and Alexa.
Up next, Ariel’s line: Tina, Angela, Andrea, Alexis, Lindsay, and Tawnie.
And we close out this week’s coverage with Kara’s line: Tinaiya, Katie, Paige, Alexis Lauren, Kylie and Anjelica.
Well the Chargers returned to their winning ways and in the process defeated a most bitter rival…okay, Eli Manning. We got nothing against the Little Big Men.
And I would like to give a shout out to my Charger Girls for braving the cold in their regular game day uniforms. It was rather chilly and with the brisk breeze, it must have seemed like it was below freezing. I mean I was cold with my Polartec jacket and six chemical warmers going, but I’ve got poor circulation. I am sure for most of the country, 55 degrees ain’t all that cold, but I’m guessing you aren’t wearing little more than a bikini and some pantyhose. In Southern California in December, 55 degrees is cold.
Well done, CGs! Keep up the good work!
