Titans Rookie Cheerleader, Molly, has returned home with wonderful memories of yet another amazing experience traveling through Europe while touring with the professional figure skating show, “Broadway on Ice.”
The Titans Cheerleaders are fortunate to claim a world renowned figure skater as one of their newest team members. Molly has skated for nearly 30 years and has competed nationally in both singles and pairs. From 2000-2003, she earned international medals as a pairs skater while a member of the U.S. Figure Skating Team. During that time, she competed in the 2002 U.S. Olympic Trials, earning 8th in pairs and 14th in singles.
Privileged to perform for “Broadway on Ice,” Molly was a part of a 20-person cast consisting of two singers, one pianist and 17 international principal skaters from all over the world, including Canada, United States, Austria, France, Hungry and Russia.
Performing in front of approximately 44,000 fans across the Czech Republic, Molly skated in seven shows over a five-day period. The Franklin, Tennessee native performed in the cities of Prague, Ostrava, Zlin, Brno and Pardubice. She also had the honor of opening each show with a solo performance.
In addition, Molly was a part of a newly choreographed trio piece, skating to “Razzel Dazzel.” Prior to the Czech Republic tour, Molly and the cast spent 11 days in Germany, rehearsing up to 12 hours a day for the show.
Despite her strenuous performance and rehearsal schedule, the first-year cheerleader was able to enjoy the magnificent scenic views of the mountain country. During an off-day in Prague, Molly, her fellow cast members and crew walked the streets and bridges, visiting the city’s stunning sights.
“It has been four years since I have done this show, so it was such a blast catching up and spending time with some of my favorite people in the world,” said Molly. “Even though most of our tour was traveling as a cast by bus, hours layered up freezing in rehearsals learning steps over and over, as well as, hours backstage in hair, make up and quick changing! It’s a busy world as a professional skater touring from country to country and venue to venue. Whether it’s ‘Life on a Frozen Stage’ or ‘Sunday Sidelines of the Grid Iron,’ I wouldn’t change it for the world, and I’m proud to say I’m an athlete and a showgirl for life!”
