I have said this before, but I think that the Charlotte Honey Bees are one of the hottest dance teams in all of professional sports. And our next 2018 P-R-O Convention All Star is a member of that squad…introducing Charlotte Honey Bee Amber S.

The Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders are another one of my favorite squads to photograph at the P-R-O Convention and I never seem to get as much individual quality time with them as I would like.  There is just not enough time.  But one Titans Cheerleader that I have been able to photograph every year she’s been there is a three year veteran named Johnsie.  Beautiful, photogenic and a great dancer, Johnsie definitely stands out…so without further ado, introducing Johnsie our latest 2018 P-R-O Convention All Star.

One of my favorite teams to photograph at the annual P-R-O Convention is the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders. They have some absolutely gorgeous cheerleaders who wear some of the most glamorous uniforms in professional cheerleading. And that makes all the difference in my book. I appreciate that their squad wears their game day uniforms at this event and it makes my job easier to get an interesting image when they are all gussied up like that.

And one of those glamorous Washington Redskins Cheerleaders that caught my eye is our next 2018 P-R-O Convention All Star…introducing Azusa!

There were many professional cheerleading squads and dance teams at this year’s P-R-O Convention in Atlanta.  And there were a few college dance teams there as well.  One of them was the University of South Florida Sun Dolls, a long time participant at the event.  They have a nice little squad that kind of reminds me of a pro style dance team with pro style uniforms and pro style choreography.

Well our next 2018 P-R-O Convention All Star is one of those USF Sun Dolls and I am sure that we’ll see her the sidelines on a Sunday or  basketball court soon.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get her name…I thought I would get it off the internet on the Sun Dolls’ roster page after the convention, but alas it was not to be.

PRELIMINARY AUDITION

$30 Pre-registration fee (Credit card at time of registration.)

What do we look for in a Thunder Girl?

• Technical, talented dancer and performer
• Ability to pick up dance choreography quickly
• Strong teamwork skills
• A professional and well-spoken ambassador for the Thunder organiation
• Consistent, positive attitude
• Energetic and hard-working
• Physically fit and uphold personal appearance
• Must be at least 18 years old by July 21, 2018. No exceptions.

What should I bring to the audition?

• $30 registration fee
• Water and snacks
• Hair supplies, makeup supplies and a towel

What should I wear to auditions?

• Two-piece attire (half top with briefs, dance shorts or dance skirt)
• Skin-colored nylons or tights
• Non-marking shoes (jazz shoes, dance sneakers, athletic shoes)
• Hair must be worn down; full hair and makeup
• Tattoos must be completely covered with makeup or clothing
• Stud earrings only; no other jewelry is allowed except for engagement/wedding rings

What is the Thunder Girls full audition process?

• Saturday, July 21: Preliminary auditions. You will learn a pom combination, a hip-hop combination, a jazz dance combination and you will demonstrate across the floor techniques that will each be performed in front of a panel of judges. At the end of this audition, a group of finalists will be selected to continue to the finals. There may or may not be cuts before the Finalists are selected.
• Finalist mandatory dates: Finalists selected on July 21 must be available from July 22-28. No exceptions. Throughout Finals Week you will: learn choreography, attend a team workout, get fitted for cocktail attire, go through a business interview, attend dress rehearsal and a live final audition.

What should I do to prepare for auditions?

• Thunder Girls prep classes are not mandatory, but they are highly recommended as an excellent way to touch up on your dance skills and learn what it takes to be a Thunder Girl!
