It was an amazing weekend of dance with some of professional sports hottest cheerleaders and dancers. There were the usual teams that brought large contingents, you know the Texans, Vikings, Redskins, Cardinals, Titans, Jets Flight Crew, and the Falcons. And there were teams that brought smaller groups like the Wizards, Honey Bees, Checkmates, and the Buccaneers. There were a few squads from minor league teams and there were a few college dance teams. There were even a couple of cheerleaders from Japan that made the trek all the way to Atlanta.
All in all, it was another great year for this auspicious event, the 15th P-R-O Convention.
Over the years, a trend has developed whereby gifted dancers from Japan have traveled to the United States to make their professional cheerleading dreams come true. And this year, there were two Japanese cheerleaders at P-R-O who made it on to NFL teams: Azusa from the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders and Sayuri from the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders.
The NFL is a sport with world wide reach. I know we have had a few Australians, at least two British and several cheerleaders from Latin America that have made it onto NFL squads in recent years, so it is no surprise that we would have talented cheerleaders from Japan that have been apart of this wonderful experience. More power to them.

“To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful.. This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking”― Agnes De Mille
This is the fifteenth year that the P-R-O Convention has been providing usable choreography to professional cheerleaders and dancers. Few such business endeavors endure that test of time and that is testament to the people behind this effort and the nature of the service they provide. I think it is because of their love of dance and their passion that this convention has endured so long.
I have been coming to this event since 2010 and every year, I challenge myself to get the best images that I am able and to capture the spirit of the dancers and choreographers that make this event special. It is grueling work, but it is my passion that makes me strive to be the best I can be with respect to documenting this wonderful event and it is this desire that keeps me coming back each year for more…nine years and counting.
