Congratulations to our own Charger Girl Alexis Lauren for winning 3rd Runner Up at the 2014 Miss California USA pageant.
For those who may not have known it, Alexis was Miss California Teen USA in 2011 before becoming a Charger Girl two years ago. She is one of the most beautiful Charger Girls I have ever photographed and she is simply breathtaking to watch on the sidelines.

Between Christmas and New Year’s we are showcasing the year’s favorite photos from our contributors.
This year, I traveled to several events and was fortunate to photograph some of the most beautiful cheerleaders in professional sport. But there one cheerleader who is heads and shoulders above all the rest and he is a rock star in his own right…Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
I took this photo of him at last year’s opening ceremonies of the Cowboys training camp and he tireless worked the autograph line. Clearly he relishes the attention and he is, by far, the biggest cheerleader for the Cowboys.
But, I suspect our readers were expecting a photo of one of the lovely ladies who grace the sidelines, so I have included a photo of one of the most beautiful cheerleaders that I have ever photographed. It’s a photo I posted recently, but it is one of my favorites of those that I took this year. Charger Girl Pro Bowl Representative Anjelica in her blue velvet Christmas uniform.

Whether or not there is something on the line, it’s always a big game when the Raiders come to town and this past Sunday, the Silver and Black and a fair amount of the Raider Nation descended upon the friendly confines of Qualcomm Stadium. The Raiders were playing for pride and the Chargers were playing to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. The Chargers over came three turnovers to come away with the win, making the most of their opportunities whereas the Raiders offense was led by a journeyman Quarterback and it showed.
Final Score: Chargers – 26, Raiders – 13.
With the win and improbable losses by Miami and Baltimore, the Chargers stayed in contention for a playoff berth. And there’s nothing better than beating your arch rival when the season is on the line. Well…there is one thing that’s better…THE CHARGER GIRLS IN THEIR BLUE VELVET CHRISTMAS UNIFORMS!
If all of this Charger Girl goodness can’t put you into the holiday spirit, well you must be named Ebenezer Scrooge.
So, let us begin our special holiday coverage of the ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS CHARGER GIRLS with the Captains: Katelyn, Natalie, Ariel, and Kara.
This week’s holiday themed Charger Girl of the Day is one of my favorite Charger Girls to photograph. She is a really nice person and one of the most beautiful Charger Girls I’ve ever photographed…introducing native San Diegan Anjelica.

This past Sunday, the New York Giants were in town to play the San Diego Chargers in a must win game for both teams. It was a cold day with temperatures in the mid-50’s, but the Chargers’ play on the field was hot as Philip Rivers threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns. Ryan Mathews rushed for 103 yards and the Chargers defense managed to keep the Giants offense in check for most of the day, intercepting two Eli Manning passes.
Final Score: Surging Chargers – 37, G-men – 14.
With the loss, Eli Manning is 0-3 against the team he turned his back on in the 2004 NFL draft. This was sweet revenge for Charger fans who remember the Manning family’s refusal to play in San Diego, but keeping their slim playoff hopes alive was more meaningful. And with the win, they did…at least for another week and that’s something to celebrate.
It was Junior Charger Girl day at Qualcomm Stadium and there were hundreds of little Charger Girls who braved the cold to cheer their hearts out for the fans. In addition to performing on Sunday, they raised thousands of dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Chargers Community Foundation.

This week’s Charger Girl of the Day is a former Pro Bowl Representative (2011) of the Seattle Sea Gals and a cheerleader that I was fortunate enough to photograph at the 2011 PRO Convention in Atlanta. And now she can add the title of Charger Girl of the Day to her list of accomplishments…introducing Nicole, a first year Charger Girl.

Another Sunday, another NFL game. This week, the AFC North leading Cincinnati Bengals came to town to test their mettle against the resurgent San Diego Chargers. In a game that had meaning for both teams, the Chargers stumbled and bumbled their way to a loss against the methodical Bengals.
Philip Rivers, coming off a huge performance against the Kansas City Chiefs, couldn’t continue the hot streak and failed to consistently move the Chargers into scoring position against a resilient Bengals defense. Three turnovers proved costly as the Chargers stumbled their way through the game.
Andy Dalton and the solid, but unspectacular Bengals offense sustained three scoring drives to score 17 points and that would be all the Tigers needed to dispatch the Chargers as the Boys in Blue could only muster 10 points.
Who dey? That's BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushing for a touchdown.
Final Score: Bengals – 17, Chargers – 10.
Well that was a disappointing way to end the day. But there was at least one silver lining…the hottest dance team in the NFL, your Charger Girls!

This year, I will be able to attend only 9 of the 10 home games this season, so this week we will have two Charger Girls of the Day. Our first honoree is a 2nd year veteran who hails from Las Vegas, Nevada…introducing Katie.
Our second honoree is one of my favorite Charger Girls to photograph. She is a third year Charger Girl and San Diego native…introducing Angela.
