The Lightning Bolts opened the season last night with a victory over the division rival Detroit Red Wings, 6 to 4.
The Lightning Girls were out early to greet the sell out crowd. The ladies are another attractive and talented squad who are being managed by alum Crystal Brown.
NHL Hockey in Paradise returns on a long quest for Lord Stanley. We will be there.

Tough loss for the Dolphins on Sunday versus the Titans. Miami needs to find answers to the offensive line injury bug before the Steelers arrive this week at Hard Rock Stadium.
It’s always fun to visit the beautiful and talented Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders, especially this week as they honored the NFL Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative on Sunday with bright pink tops.
Busy day for the ladies starting with multiple pregame appearances on the outside Grand Plaza and quarter break performances during the game. The MDC also danced midfield with the Juniors at halftime.
Rookie Rachael was chosen as “Cheerleader of the Game”. Rachael also has the honor of being Miss February in the 2017 Swimsuit Calendar. MDC link to purchase is here.
Great squad this year with a nice combination of rookies (both domestic and international) and fan favorite veterans.

Last Sunday the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost at home to the Denver Broncos. They next play at Carolina on MNF.
Pay me now or pay me later! The Bucs played at 4pm for the last two home games; out of the early afternoon heat but into the 6:30pm electrical storms. Both games were stopped in the 4th quarter for hour long weather delays. We need roof stadiums in Florida! Oh well.
No problem for the TBBC, they cheer in any weather conditions.

FIRST: Prayers out to everyone (especially our Dolphin and Jaguar friends) in the path of Hurricane Matthew. Stay safe.
The Dolphins cheer organization continues to raise the bar each year with their presentation of the MDC squad. What a great show on September 30th at Hard Rock Stadium, the joint was rocking, the ladies were wonderful in outfit, dance and runway presence.

The Dolphins introduced their 2017 calendar models on Friday night and I was able to snap a photo of each monthly pick. The calendar is more like a book, over 42 pages including close to a hundred photos of some twenty cheerleaders. Exceptional product. Click the photos to enlarge. Link to purchase is here.
Check back with us tomorrow and Thursday as we will post our show and after-show photos.

Dateline Miami:
Miami, FL – On Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders hosted their annual Swimsuit Fashion Show and Calendar Unveiling at Hard Rock Stadium. The evening’s events featured the ladies in a high-energy swimwear fashion show.
The fashion show showcased swimsuit designs by Meg Liz Swimwear, Miss Fanatic x Jypsea Swim, Luli Fama, DEPSI Swimwear, Casa Bikini, PintArena Swimwear, CAI Swimwear, Prettylittlething.com and jewelry from Tiffany Lee Jewelry, Bella Beach Jewels and Brooke and Arrow Boutique.
The show opened with a Dolphins-themed segment, showcasing the cheerleaders in aqua and orange and a creative display of football equipment. That was followed by colorful fringe in a fun and flirty scene. The fashion show then showcased a battle between fire and ice – with a live performance by Joe Reynolds & Danny Pietrafeso with the ladies walking the runway to the soothing music of John Mayer covers. A beautiful ice ballerina was quickly engulfed in a dance battle with fierce fire dancers to unleash the fire models.
In the next scene, spectators were entertained by a TwiinBotz robot performance that danced with the cheerleaders to introduce a futuristic theme. The ladies were body painted head to toe in shattered metal, screws and robotics-inspired body paint by the Makeup Mob walking to techno beats with lasers filling the room. In honor of the inaugural International Auditions this year, eight countries the team represents were introduced wearing their countries colors and proudly waving their flag.
Following the conclusion of the fashion show, the 2017 calendar months were displayed, culminating with the 2017 cover unveil to the public for the first time. Miami Dolphins Cheerleader Monica has the honor of being the 2017 cover girl, a distinguished third consecutive year she has been featured on the cover.
The 2017 calendar was shot on the island of Barbados and can be ordered here
The Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders represent eight countries, 28 cities and speak a combined five languages. The organization became the first NFL team to host auditions internationally, searching for enthusiastic, charismatic and talented women in Bogota, Colombia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Mexico City, Mexico; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and South Florida to represent one of the most prestigious teams in the NFL.
One of the most visible entertainment groups in all of professional sports, the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders have traveled to more than 30 countries on five continents over the past decade and continue to be an iconic and international face of NFL Cheerleaders. The cheerleaders are on the sidelines for all home games and are extremely active in the community; visiting schools and hospitals, as well as charity and corporate events.

Disappointing home opener this week as the Buccaneers lost to the L.A. Rams. The Bucs are home again this weekend to host the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Denver Broncos.
Interesting side note to the game is that Tara Battiato, 3rd year Cheerleader Manager, spent five seasons cheering with the Denver Broncos, serving as team captain for four years and traveling to Hawaii as the team’s 2013 Pro Bowl Representative. Upon retiring her boots and chaps she came to Tampa.
I sat down this week for a quick Q&A with the busy Tara:
UC: Any problems separating your love for the Broncos versus your present devotion to the Bucs on game day?
Tara: I was born and raised in Denver Colorado. I grew up watching the Denver Broncos and more specifically the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders (DBC). Being a member of the DBC shaped me into the women that I am today. The DBC and Denver Broncos will always be a part of my life. However, currently working for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders as their manager and choreographer is a dream come true. Dancing is my passion and watching my choreography come to life on game days brings so much meaning to my life. I will forever be thankful to the Glazer family for my current role and will wear Red and Pewter for as long as possible!
UC: Is there going to be an invasion of your Denver family/friends at Ray Jay for the game?
YES! I am trilled to welcome my family back to Raymond James Stadium. I will have 16 family members, 4 former DBC teammates and one of my best friends attending the game on Sunday! I am most excited to introduce my 3 year old niece Clara to the TBBC.
UC: What has been the most rewarding part of your three year tenure managing such impressive talented young professional women?
It would be too difficult to select one rewarding aspect of my tenure. However, I am one of the lucky individuals in life that gets excited to go to work every day. I love meeting season pass members and Buccaneers fans every game. I love being able to make an impact in the Tampa Bay Community through our Bucs Care Foundation. But most importantly, I love attending practice every Tuesday and Thursday. The 35 members of the TBBC bring my life so much joy. I love watching them become better performers and women on and off the field.
UC: Winning in Denver seemed to come easy, losing in Tampa has been consistent. You are an organizational insider, when can the loyal Buccaneer fans expect to see their cheerleaders on the sideline of a Super Bowl?
The TBBC are the most talented, hardworking and kind women in the NFL. They inspire me to be a better coach and woman every day. They are world champions and do not need a ring to prove it. However, I wouldn’t mind choreographing routines for a playoff run sooner than later!
Thank you Tara, Tampa Bay is lucky to have you here. Photos are courtesy of Tara and the Buccaneers.
Tune back in tomorrow when we publish our album from the Rams game. Buccaneer web site is here
