Here’s a couple shots from the Predators playoff victory on Sunday. Sara and Cassie have both been picked to be Magic Dancers this upcoming season. Sara was on Arena Dream Team last year and Cassie is on the team this year.

The Tampa Bay Storm beat back the squad from DisneyTown in the “double nickel” episode of the ongoing War on I-4 between these cross state rivals. The Predators still lead the series 28-27 all time. I rooted for the Predators last Thursday but this Saturday I had to go with my home town team. Great game but I actually missed about half the scores because my eyes were stuck in the camera lens seeking out the cheerleaders.
The theme of the night was “salute to home town hero” with many honorary presentations through out the evening. The attractive Storm Cheerleaders are comprised of 15 talented dancers who are extremely active during the entire game day process. Constantly giving back, the squad helped out at the St. Joe’s Hospital’s pre-game “Kids are Heroes” party for rewarding area children. Mingling with the guests and then donning capes during the game they were SUPER all evening.
Let’s introduce the two Co-captains first: STEPHANIE was voted to the Arena Bowl Dream Team last year and presently uses her college degree as a Designer of office space. Her bucket list includes learning French. Sweet SAVENAH is a USF gal enjoying her first year as team captain. She and Jalyssa are in the voting for 2014 Dream Team (Cast your vote here).
The 2014 impressive rookie class consist of: ANNA–studied at American Musical & Dramatic Academy. Currently performs at Busch Gardens and Universal Studio. Loves dance competitions, escaping to the Florida beaches and keeping in shape by running. ANNIE–a USF gal who works as an executive assistant. Her dream job is a career at ESPN. Looking forward to eventually raise a household of munchkin’s and relaxes doing crossword puzzles. I first met CRYSTAL in her Lightning Girl days. Major study is in healthcare with a goal of becoming a RN. Her 5 loves are–her daughter, family, dance, friends and the beach. EMILIE–will graduate USF in December and her career occupational goal is to become a Marine Biologist. She speaks French fluently. After receiving a 4 year degree at the University of Tampa, ERIKA schooled another 3 years for a RN. She loves to play the violin and cello in between qualifying for her Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Busch Garden’s performer KERI was a 4 year USF SunDoll and still found time to graduate Cum Laude. MEGAN attends St. Pete College with a career goal of working as a radiologic technologist. Her bucket list includes learning snow boarding.
Returning veterans are: JALYSSA plans to use her USF Psychology degree to work in the foster care social areas. ALEXANDRA-has past Lightning Girl tenure. LEXXIE, New York born, has her major in theatre dance and presently pays her bills with her Starbucks Barista wages. PHILIPPA is majoring in Sport & Exercise Science and she also would like to speak a different language fluently. SALINA is studying for a career in the criminal justice system (on the good side). SHANIQUA graduated USF and now works as a recruiter with a career goal of being a motivational speaker.
Our access thanks goes out to Ms. Kindra Ebanks, manager, choreographer and mentor of these fine young ladies. Another great squad, good luck toward reaching the playoffs.

Last Thursday I had the pleasure to cover the Orlando versus Jacksonville AFL game held at the University of Central Florida campus. Feisty match as the first place South Division Predators bested the Sharks for the third time this season. Most of my attention for the night was spent chasing around the very attractive, talented Prowler’s Dance Team. This is a fun group of gals and I hope my photos capture the pure joy of entertaining that they exhibited. They enjoy performing together.
The Prowlers are a 12 member squad led by Ms Billie (I’ll call you Scarlett) O’Hara. Billie has appeared in our pages numerous times and our Senior Writer, Midwest Dave, did a masterful must read piece on Billie awhile back. The common consensus from all the dancers is how lucky and excited they are to be learning and working under someone with Billie’s elite performing and teaching experience. Her credentials are very impressive. Billie’s choreography routines are edgy—check out the video link below.
I arrived early for pre-game practice and consequently was able to sit and chat with a few of the ladies. Co-captain Trista performs at Universal Studios as a high kick dancer and has been in a couple Macy’s New Year Day parades. Trista advanced to the top 30 at the NBA’s Magic auditions and is gearing up for another try. Trista also is in a runoff with Co-captain Cassie K. for the Dream Team spot this year. I missed seeing Cassie K. because she chose to go honeymooning over staying in town to meet me. (Dream Team voting).
Three-year vet Sara was voted to the Dream Team last year and had the honor of being host franchise at the Orlando Amway Arena. Sara is a senior at UCF majoring in hospitality and would love to work in the event planning industry. Her bucket list includes cruising down under where the kangaroos live.
Rookie Ashley, studying at UCF, has a passion for dance and loves to perform volunteer work with the elderly through her church. Returnee Megan last danced with the Prowlers in 2010 and has been dancing on Royal Caribbean cruises for the last two years–productive time because she met her fiancé from Scotland. Megan performs in Beetlejuice at Universal Studios and recently was a finalist at Cirque du Soleil auditions.
Second year Shawna will graduate from UCF this year after a stellar academic career including the President’s List. She’s presently performing on America’s Got Talent and her 21-person troupe received 4 yes votes to advance on. Rookie Chelsea V. is a NJ-born girl who’s family ran a peach farm in South Jersey. She was an accomplished gymnast before a serious knee injury eliminated that athletic path. She also dances at Universal Studio and is thoroughly enjoying her first year with the Predators and her new group of sisters.
My passion for red heads increased after I met Florida born Cassie D, a third year veteran. She’s enjoying her best year especially since the Predators have a hold on first place. A UCF graduate, Cassie is a traveling girl (back from London), and loves dancing at Universal & Disney. The closest I ever got to a Rockette was maybe the fifth row—-until I met 5’8″ Deana. Two years on the Rockette’s and planning to go back again this holiday season. Deana also almost forgot to mention her dancing stints in Los Angeles. How about gigs with Lady Gaga, Beyonce & J Lo. Wow!!!!!
Third year Jessie along with rookies Madison and Chelsea M round out the squad and gave me some great photos.
Our thanks go out to Billie and her team, Amy (Entertainment Coordinator) and Wayne Sysock (squad photographer) for the great hospitality received. Enjoy the video and photos and as Arnold says, “I’ll be bok”.
This Saturday the Predators visit Tampa to continue the “War on I-4”. I’ll be covering the Storm Cheerleaders—I hope the Prowlers come visit.

Two very popular ex TBBC cheerleaders have decided to climb back up on the horse Dallas Style. Meagan P. and Courtney R. have left the boredom of NFL retirement (cheered 2009-11) behind to try to become Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. They have advanced to DCC training camp with hopes of being selected over the next two months to join the world’s most famous squad. If the criteria include talent, attractiveness, and personality then I like their chances. Good luck to these classy young ladies from all your Tampa Bay fans.

The Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders will field a talented, attractive forty-four women squad this season. The split is 23 veterans and 21 rookies. The two week process of audition tryouts started with close to 300 candidates. The five hour finals were open to the public and included a spectacular showcase of individual talents and learned choreography. The fan favorite kick line was included and presented in groups of five.
All the beauty wasn’t just limited to the stage as a very impressive 11 judges table included ex Dolphins cheerleader Pamela Silva Conde (Emmy Winning Univision Anchor) and beautiful Cowboys alum Brooke (Sorenson) Nix. Mr. Kenny Walker, stadium voice of the Dolphins, did his normal excellent job of moderating the program. Our thanks goes out to Emily Snow, Cheerleader Manager, for inviting both James and I to cover this fun event.
Congratulations to the new squad—-you are now members of a select prestigious professional cheerleading team, treat it like orange/aqua gold.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers named their 2014 Cheerleaders at the Team’s Draft Party. A nice touch was having the 50+ finalists meet and greet fans arriving at Ray Jay Stadium for the NFL Draft’s opening night. Two hours later the final cut to 30 cheerleaders was made. The squad members then were introduced on the field by Ronnie “Night Train” Lane of the Buccaneer radio station WDEA. Wearing different outfits then last year, the Tampa ladies were remarkably synchronized for their first team showcase performance. Kudos to Manager Tara Battiato and her staff.
