Ultimate Cheerleaders

Congratulations to Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2011 Pro Bowl Cheerleader Tiffany who is getting married today!

This year, your favorite Buccaneers cheerleaders are helping  celebrate Halloween by competing in their very first Buccaneers Cheerleaders Halloween Group Costume Contest! Led by othe four captains, Ashlee, Cassie, Kasey and Kendell, the squad was split up into groups and instructed to come up with their idea for the best group costume.

“The ladies are thrilled to be participating in the team’s Halloween-themed efforts and went all out in coordinating their group costumes,” said Cheerleading Manager Melissa Fitzgerald. “I am always amazed at how innovative they can be. Hopefully, the fans have a chance to see the squad’s fun and competitive side, as they look to earn their votes for Best Group Costume.”

Check out all the photos here.

Hurry, you’ve only got till Friday to vote.

Momentum in sports is funny. Positive Mo can carry you through underdog victories but negative flow can almost be impossible to stop without a complete regime change. Currently there is much venom spewing in Tampa and most of it directed toward head coach Greg Schiano. Without proven NFL pedigree the coach is an easy target to be classified as another “Peter Principle” college rah rah boy. Since every 7 days present new opportunities I guess we’ll have answers soon. Surely the Bucs won’t be an 0-16 team? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller?

Inverse to the football results, the TBBC has “It” going on. Each week new outfits and sharp performances are becoming the norm. The Thursday night halftime dance in throwback Pirate garb was striking. Manager Melissa Fitzgerald and her squad are really shaking it up in an effort to keep the fan base entertained and into the game. Kudos goes out to the latest choreography productions. Hopefully my stills capture the impressive performances.

Tampa Bay is off to a respectable start this NHL season and the 2013-14 edition of the Lightning Girls are pumping up their fans nightly in a nearly sold out Times Forum. Jeff Vinik, the Lightning’s present owner, continues to upgrade the Hockey experience with additional dining options and other amenities plus masterful home ice will add to game night enjoyment.

The impressive squad of Lightning Girls continue to mingle with the fans through out the evening attempting to visit every tier and section of the arena. Co-captains this year are two young veteran ladies, Crystal (5th year) and Marissa (4th year). Enjoy the photos from the first few games:

The Buccaneers presented a nice halftime show for Pink Sunday. The TBBC, both current and alumni, took a secondary role as cancer survivors, young dancers, race participants (Treasure Chests 5k Run/Walk) took center stage to further promote the NFL league-wide breast cancer awareness campaign. A very nice musical presentation with pink pageantry costumes. The stadium was very colorful: Red, Pink and green (ugh) was everywhere.

I have ugliness in my football history. I was a season ticket holder in the Meadowlands when airplane banners were urging us to burn in protest our winless Giants ducats. Hopefully victory is on the horizon for the Tampa community. Next home game is a Thursday Night contest—not good to be sitting there with an o-fer during national exposure!! Losing mentality can become very contagious (no pun intended), it’s best to stop it this week in Atlanta.

Tampa Lightning Girls Erica & Heather at home opener win over Panthers.

The Rays were sent packing Tuesday by the rival Red Sox. In the end, Tampa’s bats were just not there to overcome even the slightest of pitching shortcomings. The offense is anemic and the pattern is evident that the Rays do not have enough hitters to advance far in baseball’s postseason.

The good news is that Tampa Bay is one of the few MLB franchises to use a cheer group for their fans. The “Ray Team”, comprised of guys and gals, are an energetic interactive squad who greet and mingle with fans before and during every game at Tropicana Field.

We added some photos from the night to our Rays album–enjoy.

We added a supplemental batch of photos to our Bucs/Cardinals album. This game was scheduled for throwback uniforms but new NFL “helmet rule restrictions” pulled the plug on that celebration. Hopefully we may get to see the popular wearing of the Orange later in the season. Enjoy the photos-next Sunday high speed Philly comes to town.

Glad my primary job is to present the Bucs Cheerleaders because I certainly can’t come up with many superlatives for the players performance. Rough NFL season so far–my Giants and Buccaneers are both sitting at 0-4. Wow, didn’t see that coming!!

The TBBC were in fine form on Sunday as they added to their normal game routine an impressive halftime performance in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The ladies honored the region’s roots by performing to popular Latin music.

Next weekend is the Bucs bye week but we will be publishing another batch of pictures so check back with us.

Enjoy the photos.
