Earlier this month the ROAR of Jacksonville visited the Universal Orlando Resort to shoot their 2009-10 swimsuit calendar. The cheerleaders also appeared at the theme parks and even had time to check out all of the rides and attractions.

The Austin Toros announced the hire of Monica Aguilar of San Antonio, Texas as the team’s new Director and Choreographer for the Capital City Dance Team and the Toros Junior Dancers. A native of Austin, Aguilar danced for four years at Akins High School before attending UT San Antonio, where she eventually earned a spot with the Spurs’ Silver Dancers. She spent four seasons in San Antonio, two as a team captain. She also taught dance at numerous area studios and fitness clubs.
Aguilar welcomes the challenges of directing and mentoring at the D-League level. “I’m definitely excited to raise the bar and build on the sense of professionalism here,” she commented. “These women all come from different backgrounds and hopefully working hard and pulling the team together will bring out the best in them and me. I think we can build something really special.”
Aguilar, 23, inherits her new position from Terri Meyer, who led the Capital City Dancers for the Toros past three seasons. Open tryouts for the 2009-2010 dance team are scheduled for September.

Amy of the 49ers Gold Rush pops up in the latest edition of Aurbey Aquino’s On the Flipside.
Aubrey cheered/danced for the Sacramento Kings, Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals.

Each year, Merritt Estate Winery in Forestville, NY hosts an annual Strawberry Festival which not only gives a boost to their business, but more importantly, raises a lot of money for a local charity. This year’s charity is the Ruben Brown Foundation, a charity that was set up by former Bills All-Pro G Ruben Brown to benefit various charities and community organizations that focus on the development of youth through athletics as well as cultural and educational programs and a big emphasis on the Salvation Army.
Joya, Kelly, and HeatherThe Winery recently became an official sponsor of the Buffalo Jills and even created a special edition Buffalo Jills wine that recently became available to the public. With this sponsorship, a number of the Jills are on hand this weekend at the Festival to pose for photos and sign autographs for the fans as well as a few extra surprises. There’s a dunk tank set up at the Festival and rookie dancer Gabrielle consented to be the dunkee for a little while and got dunked quite a few times for her trouble. With the temperature in the high 60s, it couldn’t have been the most comfortable experience but Gabby pulled it off with smiles. Also, one of the items that were auctioned off in the evening of the first day of the festival was a 4-pack of tickets to the 7th Annual Buffalo Jills Golf Tournament with a limo ride as part of the package. Jill and Kelly Ann joined Ruben Brown, Jickster, and the auctioneer onstage as that item went up for bid.

Danielle Nicole is Dance Team Coach, Choreographer and Arena Host for the Long Island Lizards MLL. This is her 6th season cheering and dancing for Professional Lacrosse including two seasons for the NLL NY Titans Sirens.

This is a homecoming for Kari who danced for the Suns for five seasons (2000-5).
Kari was previously the Dance Team Director for the NHL Phoenix Coyote and the NLL Arizona Sting.

Former Seattle Sea Gal and current The Price is Right model Amber Lancaster will appear on CBS’s daytime drama The Bold & The Beautiful this Wednesday and Thursday. The plotline involves a visit to the game show and will feature the show’s cast including host Drew Carey.
To recap – Three sets of cuts on Saturday. Sunday afternoon started off with a photo shoot in bikinis and audition outfits. There were no cuts after the photo shoot and now the last phase begins.
