Okay, I am going away to climb that mountain. But David T. will be posting some of his great shots for Photo of the Day, and Sasha will be running the office in my absence. If all goes well, I’ll be back in a week, if not…..

Important Announcement!

Technology strikes again!

It has come to our attention that there is a problem with our email accounts James[at]procheerleaderblog.com and sasha[at]procheerleaderblog.com. We are receiving some, but not all of the emails being sent to those addresses.

This has most likely been going on for a few weeks, and we’re just now putting two and two together. There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to which emails get through to us and which ones don’t. So if you’ve emailed us in the past few weeks and received no response, it’s probably because your email fell down the rabbit hole and we never received it. 🙁

We are getting ahold of Yahoo Business to troubleshoot the issue. However, in the meantime, if you need to reach either of us about something that is time-sensitive, please leave a comment for any post on this site. We have to approve all comments before they become public, so we will definitely see it. (And please note if it is a public comment, or a private question/comment for our eyes only.)

We are very sorry for any inconvenience/misscommunications this may have caused (as well as feelings of intense anger from being blown off by us!) We’re working to fix it ASAP.

Film and TV Opportunities

The first is with a Chicago-based producer and screenwriter, who has a first look development agreement with a noted production company that is a prolific content provider to numerous television networks. The proposed show, featuring a pair of ex-Professional Cheerleaders as mentors and coaches, is under consideration at a handful of networks that the production company has agreements with. If the production company agrees to pick up the show, the compensation plan is to pay the talent comparable to AFTRA minimum cable TV rates.  The show is currently being produced in Chicago.

Here’s what they need: An ex-NFL or ex-NBA Cheerleader (Unfortunately, No Arena Football, College or Minor League Cheerleaders), 28-38, Open Ethnicity, with at least two years of cheering experience, based in the Midwest (preferably Chicago, Milwaukee, or Indianapolis), with a STRONG personality. No previous acting experience is necessary, but candidates must provide verifiable proof of professional cheerleading experience.

They would like to get talent on tape by and selected by Friday, June 17th, so any interested parties would need to respond before Saturday, June 11th.

Due to the confidentiality of this project, candidates will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

The second opportunity is with a documentary film production company based in New York. (You don’t have to live in NYC, anywhere in the US is fine.) They are currently working on a film about the American health care system, and are looking for someone who works as a pharmaceutical sales representative for a section of the film devoted to the history of the pharmaceutical business and where it stands now.

Ideally, they are looking for a current or former cheerleader who is passionate about her profession, who can give a vivid representation of what the job is like. Financial compensation for an interview will be provided.

Looking for Science Cheerleaders

Summer is a former Houston Texans Cheerleader. She's an aerospace research engineer at NASA's Johnson Space Center.

Our good friend Darlene Cavalier, The Science Cheerleader, asked us to put out a call for current and recent Pro Cheerleaders with backgrounds or jobs in science, math, engineering and health.

She’s looking for some good recruits to perform and get crowds stoked about science!

Upcoming events include March 16th at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum in Washington DC and April 16th at the Philadelphia Science Festival.

Future events may include Dallas on 4/16 and another in St. Louis in late April.

There will also be an opportunity in San Francisco in late October as well.

Administrative Note

truckWe’re moving….to a new server.
The change is taking place this weekend. So consider this your heads-up that things might be a little strange the next couple of days. Cross your fingers that it will go smoothly. We hope things will be back to normal on Monday and then we’ll start to work on some new features for the site.

We Need Your Help!

UPDATE: We got ’em! You guys are the best.

Serita will represent the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders

Howdy folks!
As many of you know, one of the things we like to keep track of is who represents each NFL squad at the Pro Bowl each year. We’ve got all but four of the ladies going to Hawaii next month. I’m hoping you guys can use your eyes and ears to help us complete the list. We need to know who is representing these teams:

Denver Broncos
New Orleans Saints (possibly Deri’andra?)
Seattle Seahawks
St. Louis Rams

If you know who will be representing these teams, please leave us a comment, or email me at sasha(at)procheerleaderblog.com.

PS: If anyone has a good photo of last year’s group and can send it over, that would be swell too. This is the best one I’ve got:

Still Looking for Dancers in Houston

k2I’m off to climb to climb mountains in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma (actually, Oklahoma is more of a hill than a mountain).  If all goes according to plan, I’ll be back on Thursday September 30th. If not, well…

I’ve scheduled some posts to appear over the next few days under my name, so don’t be confused, I really am away.

In the meantime if you’ve got tips, news or photos to share, send them to Sasha (sasha@procheerleaderblog.com)

Send us Your ‘Photo of the Day’

We try to vary “Photo of the Day”, but since we’re drawing mostly on the work of Sasha, David and me, the same teams get represented over and over, And we end up missing large swaths of the Mid-west and South.

So we’re asking you to help us and spread the love around by sending in Your Professional Cheerleader photos.

– Your own photo or permission from the copyright holder (please don’t grab somebody else’s work)

– The subject(s)  should Professional Cheerleaders or Alumni (we’re fans of college and HS, but that’s not our focus)

– Minimum  of 600 pixels wide (maximum is no problem)

– Good lighting and in focus; No awkward poses or unfortunate facial expressions (We’re looking for solid and flattering photographs)

-Tell us: Who is in the photo? What is going on? When and where was it taken?

And I’ve got a preference for vertical shots….

over horizontal photos.

Since we only do one photo a day (and we’re still going to use our own shots) we won’t be able to publish them all, but we still appreciate your contributions.

Send your submissions to photo@procheerleaderblog.com

vacationI’m off to Colorado for a week. Apparently on Thursday taking my niece to the latest Twilight movie. (Whatever that is, I am so old!)

Back next Wednesday. Send your tips to Sasha (sasha@procheerleaderblog.com)

Computer Trouble

spillI’ve got some computer issues writing this from work) so posting from me will be light until things are resolved. You can still email me, but I might not be able to respond quickly. If you need a more immediate reply, you might want to try Sasha at (sasha@procheerleaderblog.com)

Public Service Announcement

Hey guys, Sasha here. Not that anyone noticed my absence over the last couple of weeks, but for the few who did, just wanted to let you know that I’m back. I was out of commission for a number of reasons that I will refer to collectively as “The Worst Beginning Of Any Year EVER.”

Anywho, for those of you who tried to get ahold of me, please bear with me as I scramble to catch up with your emails and messages. It’s going to take a few days. Two weeks away from email = more Viagra spam and investment opportunities from Nigeria than you can shake a stick at. It’s going to take hours to reply to all of those messages, but I feel obligated to let them know two important facts:

1. I am not a dude. But even if i were a dude, and even if I did have problems with my…er…”performance,” and required prescription meds, I’m pretty sure I’d get them from my regular doctor and not some shady e-tailer. No offense.

2. I am broke, so although I feel for your poor dead uncle/husband/father/leader of your nation, alas, I will not be able to send you the funds needed to transfer his wealth out of your country. I know, I know. I’ll kick myself later for forgoing this golden opportunity.

For everyone else who emailed me, please give me a couple/few days. I have mucho catching up to do.

And now, back to the previously scheduled programming, already in progress…

Choreographer Sought

Got a message from Misty Phillips:

I am really involved with the Friendswood (TX) Lady Mustangs Cheer/Drill program and we are 6 weeks away from our Drill competition and our choreographer quit and we need 2 more dances. If you or anyone you know could help us out. It would be wonderful. It is a group of 9 girls ages 7-13. If you need more info, please call: 832.367.8538, I get off at 5pm and am free to talk at that point. Thanks either way.

k2I’m off to climb a mountain. (actually three mountains) If all goes according to plan, I’ll be back on Monday, if not well….

I’ve scheduled some posts to appear over the next few days under my name, so don’t be confused, I really am away.

In the meantime if you’ve got tips, news or photos to share. Send them to Sasha (sasha@procheerleaderblog.com)
