Arts in the Park with the PCA
Donna, Latrcia, Sam and Missy of the Professional Cheerleaders Alumni
The 2009 Arts in the Park Festival was another great success! The Arts in the Park Festival is a wonderful event showcasing all the different cultural arts we have here in our great city of Jacksonville, Florida. Several local artists come out to demonstrate their fabulous skills. Booths showcase artist’s paintings, pottery creations, jewelry crafting etc. In addition, several dance performers and groups were invited to show off their talents. Professional Cheerleaders Alumni members Donna, Latricia, Missy and myself along with our PCA Jr. Teen Cheerleaders were proud to be included.
We took center stage downtown by the beautiful St. Johns River on Saturday, October 17th, 2009 and performed a thirty minute show for this awesome community event. With the collective efforts and cool choreography the crowd was definitely entertained. They may have even been a little spooked by our MJ tribute routine “Thriller” (masks and silly spray included of course). In addition the crowd was able to get up and participate by shaking their groove thang to some favorite line dances, Bazooka Bubble Gum and the infamous YMCA. It was a fun and exciting way to give back to our community. We look forward to many more opportunities to team up with the Arts in the Park program.
