Axe Maidens at the MDA Stride & Ride for a Cure Event
Jacksonville Axe Maidens, Keana and Amy M. arrived to cheer on the 80+ walkers/riders for the MDA Stride & Ride for a Cure event held at the Avenue’s Mall Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Jacksonville, FL. The goal for this inaugural event was to raise $10,000. The Axe Maidens, along with members of the Professional Cheerleaders Alumni, lined the mall route to encourage and cheer on the participants. After the walk an award ceremony followed in which several teams and individuals received trophies. The MDA exceeded their $10,000 goal!
“Not only did we get a chance to talk with MDA staff, but we also had a chance to meet and talk with multiple families who were there walking in honor of those who live with Muscular Dystrophy. It was a very encouraging way to start the morning!” said Amy M.
