Walk-ons are welcome at Saturday’s opening auditions for the Eagles 2010 cheerleading squad.
Candidates must have already graduated from high school and be at least 18 years old.
Having “dance ability, physical fitness, beauty and showmanship” would help as well, since those are the qualities that will be judged.
“We have 38 cheerleaders on the squad and there are currently eight cheerleaders who are not planning on re-auditioning this year,” explained Barbara Zaun, director of cheerleading. “However, all of the current cheerleaders must re-audition for the squad, so in essence, there are 38 spots to fill.”
Registration, which costs $25, starts at 10 a.m. at the SCA Club Lounge at Lincoln Financial Field. Park free in the L lot.
Competitors can bring cosmetic products, snacks and bottled water, and should be prepared to stay until 5 p.m.
No visitors permitted.
The second round, for those invited back, will have rehearsals on March 30, with judging April 1.
The process concludes with an audition show that’s open to the public at 7:30 p.m. April 20 at the Prince Music Theater, 1412 Chestnut St.
The $22.50 tickets are available through www.philadelphiaeagles.com.
