First up Pamela introduces herself

Hi Vikings Fans!

pamelavikingsAs you may have read already, my name is Pamela, and this is my sixth season with the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders, and my third as a team captain. As this is my inaugural blog post on the Star Tribune’s access vikings website, I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce myself

I was born and raised in the Twin Cities area, and consider myself a lifelong Vikings Fan and student of the Performing Arts. I’ve studied dance since I was five years old, began singing at age six, and began acting at age seven. I got my start in show business as a dancing candy cane in a Christmas commercial for a local Fortune 200 company. Since then, I’ve appeared onstage at the Guthrie Theatre and the Children’s Theatre Company, traveled to New York to sing at the Lincoln Center, and competed at the national level in Speech. Upon graduation from high school, I was honored to be selected as Performing Arts Student of the Year.

While a junior in high school, I participated in the Senior Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader program, and was recruited to audition for the team. My brief conversation with Beth (a former MVC and current coach of the MVC Training Program) turned out to be one of the most formative of my teenage years. It inspired me to audition to be a MVC once eligible, which was a major decision as I was considering which colleges to attend after graduation from high school.

As it turns out, the college of my choice (Carleton College) was a brief 45 minutes south of Winter Park, so I was able to pursue my dream of becoming a Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader while pursuing my undergraduate degree. Through my four years at Carleton, I was able to pursue my academic interests (including Japanese and constitutional Law), while balancing a busy schedule cheering for the best team in the NFL!

After earning my degree at Carleton, I began working in Merchandising for a local Fortune 200 company. I also planned my wedding, honeymoon, purchased a home, and adopted an adorable chocolate lab (Cassie) within eighteen months of graduating.

To learn more about my current interests and activities, be sure to check my webpage out on vikings.com. There, you will find profiles for each of the 33 other beautiful and talented Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders, including Krisan who is also blogging for the Star Tribune. We will be posting our thoughts and opinions a few times a week here on access vikings, so please continue to check us out throughout the season!

Go Vikes!!!
