Flight Crew Auditions: Semi-Final Round
Quick recap: Nearly 300 dancers turned out on Saturday for Jets Flight Crew Auditions. One hundred nineteen were invited back for Sunday’s Semi-Finals, where hopefuls would be taught a 8 eight counts and a kick-line routine.
The morning started with dancers stretching and warming up on their own.
Last year Adele was living in Massachusetts after having graduated from Northeastern University. She decided to give the Patriots Cheerleaders a shot and she made the squad. This year she moved back home to Long Island. Since she’s a New York girl at heart, it made perfect sense to try out for the Flight Crew.
Choreography was taught by Flight Crew Director Denise Garvey.
This routine will be part of the Flight Crew’s performance when the Jets open their new stadium. I guarantee fans will not be disappointed.
The performance starts out with a lots of flying hair….
And a couple of moves I don”t know what to call…
…but look great!
The kick-line routine ended in a split.
Lauren is former NJ Nets Dancer.
Grace is graduating from Cornell Law School later this month with plans to become a corporate attorney. She cheered for Georgetown University, where she earned her undergraduate degree.
Thirty-nine dancers advanced to the final round. They would have business interviews during the week. Then on Saturday 21 veterans of the 2009 Flight Crew and these 39 would compete for a spot on this year’s squad.
