Chargers Lasso The Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys moseyed on down from Oxnard, California where they were holding training camp, to play the San Diego Chargers in Week 2 of preseason.  The Cowboys first team offense scored 10 first half points under the leadership of Quarterback Tony Romo while the hapless Chargers were shut out.  To add to the Charger’s misery, Quarterback Philip Rivers picked up where he left off last season and promptly threw two first half interceptions.

Things were looking bleak after three quarters until the Chargers second string offense lit up the second string Cowboys defense by scoring 21 fourth quarter points to save the day for the boys in blue…Charger blue that is.  Final Score: Chargers – 28, Cowpokes – 20.

A two thirds capacity crowd of mostly Cowboys fans filled Qualcomm stadium and were treated to a surprisingly exciting fourth quarter showdown, but the real excitement was provided by the Charger Girls.

So let us begin our coverage of this week’s sideline action with the Line Captains: Kara, Lauren O., Natalie, and Marissa.

This week’s Charger Girl of the Day has been a fan favorite ever since she first donned the uniform two years ago, introducing…Anjelica.

We continue our coverage of the NFL’s Hottest Dance Team in alphabetical order, beginning with Alexa, Alexis Ann, Alexis Lauren, Allizon, Amanda, and Andrea.

Up next: Angela, CGOTD Anjelica, Ariel, Clarisse, Courtney, and Erin.

We continue our coverage of the absolutely fabulous Charger Girls with Hope, Katelyn, Katie, Kayla, Kylie, and Lauren P.

We conclude our coverage with Meridith, Nicole, Paige, Rachel, Starkesha and Tawnie.

Well for me preseason is OVER!  No more home Charger games.  That’s a good/bad thing.  No more full price bad preseason football, which is good.  But that also means no more Charger Girl goodness until the regular season, which is bad.  Bad because the Charger Girls are good…get that?

Oh well…I have to wait a few weeks until the first regular season home game for the Chargers.  I guess that’s a good thing because it was a busy weekend for me, one in which I could use the rest.  It was also a weekend that had a surprising L.A. Clipper Spirit connection. Let me explain.  At the Cowboys game, I got to see one of my all time favorite Charger Girls, Katrina…who happens to be a current Clipper Spirit Dance Team member.  Katrina was helping out the Charger Girls this past Saturday by serving as a sideline coordinator.

So on Sunday, I was down in Orange County covering the Anaheim Bolts Dance Team auditions for UltimateCheerleaders.com and guess who I saw…Lauren P.  Yep, Charger Girl Lauren P., who was a Clippers Spirit Dancer a few years ago and was at the auditions to help out  along with a gaggle of current and former Clippers Spirit dancers.  Now that shouldn’t be a surprise since the Anaheim Bolts Dance Team director, Lynae de Leon, is a former Clipper Spirit Dancer herself.

Why do I mention this, other than the fact that I am dead tired shooting gorgeous cheerleaders back to back (a late Saturday Charger Game followed by an early Sunday morning audition)?  Well…it’s really a plug for my upcoming article on the Anaheim Bolts Dance Team auditions, which should be up in a couple of days…now that I have finished this one!
