We continue our coverage of Week 1 of the NFL regular season with a visit to the Mile High City where the Denver Broncos hosted the visiting Seattle Seahawks. In what is a typical first game, both teams scored a fair amount of points and both teams had a fair amount of turnovers, but the Broncos were just a bit better on this day and eeked out a 27 – 24 victory.
The Denver Broncos Cheerleaders were wearing their summer uniforms and they looked quite attractive in this iconic outfit…love this uniform. They were wearing something I had not seen before, a faux spur boot accessory that made for a rather interesting look. The Oakland Raiders hosted the Los Angeles Rams on the second game on Monday Night Football and as good hosts, the Raiders were generous in giving up 33 points while only taking back 13 for themselves. Hey, it was the first week of the new season and I am sure the second Gruden era will be a success as there were moments of optimism for the new look Raiders.
And speaking of optimism, this was our first look at the Raiderettes of the regular season and they were in mid-season form. Click here to view the Raiders game day gallery.

We continue our coverage of Week 1 of the NFL regular season with another look a those shield maidens from the North, the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders. Click here to view the Vikings game gallery.

I’m pretty sure that real Viking shield maidens didn’t wear dance pants…they probably didn’t wear Baby Helga uniforms either, but who’s complaining.
It is a new season of NFL football and optimism was the word of the day for Detroit Lions fans and those of us who drafted running back Kerryon Johnson in fantasy football. Johnson was the SEC’s 2017 Offensive Player of the Year and that has to be a welcome news for a team that last had a 100 yard rusher on Thanksgiving Day of 2013.
But alas, it was not meant to be. The Lions lost to the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, 48 – 13. Heck, Isaiah Crowell, the Cleveland Brown cast off, rushed for a 100 yards…may be next week a Lion RB (Kerryon Johnson) will rush for a 100 yards. We can hope.
Until then, let’s take a long look at the NFL’s newest cheerleading squad, the Detroit Lions Cheerleaders. Click here to view a super large gallery of images from game day.

Its new season in the NFL and it appears that several cheerleading squads have adopted new looks. Perhaps it is a response to recent current events or perhaps just the evolution of professional cheerleading in 2018. One of those new look squads is the New Orleans Saintsations. She must be thinking what I am thinking…Ryan Fitzpatrick…really? 400 yards and five total touchdowns…seriously?

Rain wreaked havoc on many NFL games this weekend, but not in Southern California where it rains here about as often as we have earthquakes…not quite, but not often. The weather was gorgeous and so were the Charger Girls. See for yourself. Click here to view the Chargers game day gallery.

Rain had a major impact on several NFL games in week 1 and in Baltimore it significantly affected game play…for the Buffalo Bills. Or may be it was the Ravens themselves that led to the lopsided loss for the Bills.
Joe Flacco must have seen what happened to the Alex Smith last year when the Chiefs drafted QB Patrick Mahomes. With his future in K.C. in doubt, Smith went on the throw the ball like he had never done before…namely more deep balls and less dump offs…but that was still not enough to prevent his eventual departure from the Chiefs. In an eerily similar situation, the Ravens used a high draft pick to select their possible QB of the future, Lamar Jackson and in the first game of the 2018 NFL season Joe Flacco threw the ball like a man about to lose his job. Uncharacteristically efficient, he passed for 236 yards and three TDs. Was it enough to convince his naysayers that he is the present and the future for the Ravens…we shall see.
But in the meantime, let’s take a look at the Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders who braved the inclement weather to cheer on the Ravens to victory. Click here to view the Ravens game day gallery.
