2012 P-R-O Convention All Star: Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader Lindsey

There were many impressive cheerleaders at the 2012 P-R-O Convention…over 300 cheerleaders and dancers to be precise.  And the Indianapolis Colts must have brought their entire squad and that was a good thing because they are very impressive in person.   And one girl caught my attention for her good looks and vivacious personality…Colts Cheerleader Lindsey.

So, let us welcome our next 2012 P-R-O Convention All Star…Lindsey.

A Special 2012 P-R-O Convention All Stars: Indianapolis Colts Bling Girls

Last year, I noticed that some Colts Cheerleaders were wearing some very heavy metal…AFC Championship Rings.  Unfortunately, I noticed this while I was home in Los Angeles, post processing my images.  I vowed to not make that mistake again and I would make it a priority to get an up close look at the coveted rings.

This year, there were two girls who were on the squad when the Colts last won the AFC title after the 2009 season…Breanna and Natalie.  They were kind enough to let me snap a few photos of the girls with their bling.

So, we honor Breanna and Natalie for being a part of that special Championship season.

Those aren't some dainty pinky rings...those are some in your face Championship rings! Bam!

If I had one of those rings, I'd be looking at it all the time too!

2012 P-R-O Convention All Star: Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader Britney G.

Well, I am back from my weekend trip to Atlanta where our fearless publisher James and I photographed over 300 of the most beautiful professional cheerleaders in the world at the 2012 P-R-O Convention.  I took over 9,000 images and as I begin to post process some of them for my convention article, I wanted to give our readers a sampling of the amazing cheerleaders in attendance.

In this series, we feature some of the most beautiful and talented cheerleaders and anoint them 2012 P-R-O Convention All Stars.  We begin with Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders Britney G. who caught my eye at the 2010 P-R-O Convention and continues to impress.

Stay tuned for more 2012 P-R-O Convention coverage.

IU School of Social Work Student Earns Spot with Colts Cheerleaders While Pursuing Master’s Degree

From the IUPUI Newscenter:

Dedication and perseverance can well serve students seeking to become social workers so they can bring hope and aid to those they serve.

And as it turns out, those same assets that have helped Melissa as she nears completion of her Master of Social Work degree at the Indiana University School of Social Work at IUPUI also played a role in her four-year quest to become an Indianapolis Colts cheerleader. (The Colts ask that the last name of their cheerleaders not be published.)

Ever since she was an undergraduate student at Valparaiso University, where she majored in psychology with a minor in social work, Melissa has had to juggle working and studying. A job making home visits made her realize she wanted to be a social worker. “I just fell in love with it, and I knew that’s what I wanted to get my master’s degree in. I knew this is where I should be,” she said of the IU School of Social Work.

Melissa had been a cheerleader since she was in middle school and joined the cheerleading squad while at Valparaiso. The cheerleading squad was in high demand, cheering on men and women’s sports. Melissa said the cheerleading squad once provided the cheers at five events in a single day: at a football game, two basketball games and two volleyball games. Today, she credits being able to juggle her busy schedule to the time management skills she developed while studying, working and being a cheerleader at Valparaiso.

Then about four years ago, Melissa set a challenge for herself: to become a NFL cheerleader. “NFL cheerleading is professional cheerleading and is the highest form you can reach. It’s the Olympics of cheerleading.”

To reach her goal of being an NFL cheerleader, Melissa brought to bear the same determination, focus and commitment that have allowed her to thrive in graduate school. As a graduate student, she worked — sometimes as much as 40 hours a week — as well as taking classes. When her classes and studying were done, she switched her focus to becoming an NFL cheerleader and pushed herself to get into the best physical shape of her life. No matter how tired she might feel, Melissa was determined to exercise every day for at least two hours.

Unlike collegiate cheerleading, which revolves around gymnastics and tumbling, NFL cheerleading is all about dancing. She added private dance lessons to her aerobic and strength training sessions and lost more than 30 pounds in the process.

Last year she put her work to the test and tried out, only to be cut in the final round of the Colts cheerleading competition. While Melissa acknowledged stopping at Dairy Queen that night after the disappointing result, she then stepped up the intensity of her workouts over the past year.

Melissa returned to the Colts cheerleaders tryouts last month. This time, she was rewarded by hearing her name called, making her one of the 32 Colts cheerleaders for the 2012 season. She has already made two appearances as a Colts cheerleader, the first at the Colts’ draft party at Lucas Oil Stadium and the other at the Mutt Strut at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Melissa knows the day soon will come when she stands on the Colts field and looks at a crowd measured in the tens of thousands, rather than by the hundreds of people she has performed before in the past.

Melissa, who has finished her classes and is completing the hours required for her practicum, hopes to land a job working with children either in an outpatient or residential setting. But one condition of accepting a job will be her ability to have certain Sundays off during the coming year.

For the second successive year there is a Greene County connection on the Indianapolis Colts’ cheerleader squad.

Sally Jo Small, a 2007 Bloomfield Junior-Senior High School graduate, was recently picked to help lead the sideline cheers for the NFL pro football squad in Indianapolis.

The 2012 Colts Cheerleaders were determined at the Audition Showcase on Tuesday night at Decatur Central High School near Indianapolis.

The event consisted of several dance routines, an evening wear and a swimsuit competition.

Approximately 65 women competed for the opportunity to be a member of the 2012 Colts Cheerleaders after a three-week audition process.

Small graduated from Purdue University at West Lafayette in December with a degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision.

Sally is the daughter of Mike and Mindy Small of Bloomfield, and the granddaughter of Ret. U.S. Air Force Col. Marcus “Red” Oliphant, also of Bloomfield.

At Purdue, she was a member of the Goldusters Dance Team.

Colts Cheerleaders entertain in Fort Wayne

During one of the March Fort Wayne Mad Ants home games, there was twice the cheer! In addition to the Madame Ants, six Colts Cheerleaders arrived to help greet fans as they entered Allen County’s War Memoral Coliseum, then they served as the halftime entertainment, and lastly provided autographs for the scores of Colts (and Colts Cheerleaders) fans in attendance.

Most of the visiting Colts Cheerleaders had connections to northern Indiana, or even more north of that! Brittany B is from Jenison, Michigan, and was joined by Indiana’s Marissa S of Huntington, Lindsay F of Churubusco, Megan M of Auburn, and Lindsay H of Muncie. Sadee R represented the area south of Indy, from Mooresville. When the Colts Cheerleaders arrived in the concourse, there were lots of hugs and laughs with the Madame Ants.

And tonight (Tuesday) is a huge night for Colts Cheerleaders, as the 2012 squad will be selected! The event will consist of several dance routines, evening wear, and a swimsuit competition. Approximately sixty-five women will compete for the opportunity to be a member of the 2012 Colts Cheerleaders after a three week audition process. With any “Luck,” this year’s draft will be the beginning of a new era of Big Blue excellence.

Lindsay F is from Churubusco, Indiana, "Turtle Town, USA"
