Hopefuls awaiting their turn
And today the returning veterans had to try out, too.
Some of the Baltimore Blast Cheerleaders who were trying out.
Some of the guys. I guess everyone reading this site is familiar with the fact that only the Ravens have male cheerleaders (sorry Green Bay!) I think the Titans were the most recent team to discontinue the guys, sometime back in the early 2000s. But for a while it looked like co-ed squads were going to be the wave of the future, and then bam!, they were gone.
I remember guys on the Dolphins and Vikings in the mid 90s, maybe the Bucs too. The Chargers were Cheerleaderless in the 80s and when they brought back the squad in the early 90s - Guys and Girls. I even remember an Eagles game it had to be the early 2000s before they tore down the vet, where the girls were doing Liberties while the guys held them up. I am sure Sasha will be along shortly to give us a full detailed history of all the teams with male cheerleaders.
I did a double-take when I saw Emily. She's the spitting image of her sister Erin, a Washington Wizards Girl.
See for yourself: Emily on the left, Erin on the right. Emily was on the Pom Squad at Towson, while Erin was on the Dance Team
