Buccaneers Cheerleaders Announce Auditions and Prep Class Dates; Name New Cheerleader Manager
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders are in search of dynamic candidates to join one of the NFL’s most elite cheerleading squads. This season, the Buccaneers Cheerleaders will select between 28 and 34 members for the team, which entertains fans at all Buccaneers home games and makes frequent appearances at community events and corporate functions. The cheerleaders may also have the opportunity to travel around the country, and beyond, as ambassadors of the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers will host prep classes on upcoming Tuesday and Thursday evenings at The Corral, located at the University of South Florida Sun Dome (4202 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa, FL 33620). The classes are non-mandatory sessions that will focus on dance technique, flexibility, performance skills and choreography. Class participation is on a first-come, first-served basis, and participants may attend as many of the classes as possible. There is a $25 fee for each class. Classes will take place from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on the following dates: April 1, April 3, April 8, April 10, April 15, and April 17.
Cheerleader candidates also have the opportunity to attend a pre-audition workshop that will be held on April 13 from 9:00 a.m. – noon at The Corral at the University of South Florida Sun Dome. This workshop will cover all of the “need-to-know” tips for auditions, such as recommended attire, dance technique, interview protocol and headshot assistance. The workshop will also include a question and answer session with the Buccaneers’ Cheerleading Manager and former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders. The cost of the pre-audition workshop is $40.
Open call auditions will be held on Sunday, April 27 at The Corral at the University of South Florida Sun Dome. Doors will open for registration at 9:00 a.m., with auditions beginning at 10:00 a.m. There is a $15 registration fee to audition, with all registration taking place on the day of auditions. Applicants must be 18 years of age by July 15, 2014 and must have a high school diploma or GED.

Who: Candidates who will be 18 years or older by July 15, 2014, with all levels of dance/cheer experience are encouraged to audition. All candidates must have a high school diploma or a G.E.D. by July 15, 2014.

Tara Battiato is joining the Bucs as the Cheerleader Manager. Tara has been a member of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders for the past five seasons and team captain for 4 years. She has represented the Denver Broncos on eight military tours in 13 different countries, the 2013 Pro Bowl in Hawaii, and most recently, at Super Bowl XLVIII. Tara graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelors of Science in Communications. Her collegiate student-athlete career included being a member of the seven-time National Champion Mane Line Dancers.
