Former Ironmen Dancer Spent Last Season with the Knicks City Dancers

Amanda Grace“With the 2009-10 season right around the corner, the New Jersey Ironmen formally announced Amanda Gardella as their new Director of the Ironmen Dancers today.  A former Ironmen Dancer herself, Gardella spent this past season at Madison Square Garden as one of the renowned Knicks City Dancers.

Everything in the past year has definitely happened really fast, and I am thrilled that this opportunity came about,” Gardella commented.  “Everything happens for a reason, and I am ready to give 150% of my heart and soul into this.  Look for us to do big things!”

A native of Middlesex, New Jersey, Gardella has been dancing since the age of 10 and has been teaching dance at the Broadway Dance Theatre in North Plainfield for the past seven years.  She has additionally been choreographing in competitive dance for the past four years.  Not only was she one of the original Ironmen Dancers during their inaugural 2007-08 season, but she also spent that year with the Sirens, the official dance team of the New York Titans of the National Lacrosse League.  After making her way through a talent pool of over 500 hopefuls over two days of trials last summer, Gardella earned her way into the National Basketball Association as a member of the Knicks City Dancers in Manhattan.

“The Knicks built the foundation that will enable me to lead this dance team to success,” she remarked.  “Making the Knicks needed to happen for me to gain the knowledge and experience for this opportunity, and I am very grateful for my time with them.”

With auditions tentatively scheduled for August, Gardella has already begun developing her vision for the Ironmen Dancers.

“I plan on us having high energy performances, and I guarantee great entertainment at every game,” she stated.  “In addition to being professional and talented dancers, I am looking for girls that will be committed to the development of the community.  I want us to not only represent the Ironmen well, but I also want us to have a strong connection with both the fans and the entire community.”

The Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders on Tuesday morning celebrated as their teammate, Jocey, officially became a lawyer.

joceytitansEntering her second year as a member of the Titans’ squad, Jocey is the first-ever Titans Cheerleader to achieve such a feat.

Excited about her future opportunities, Jocey says she “could not have achieved this dream without the support of her family, friends and fellow Titans Cheerleaders.”

Along with 50 other new lawyers who were formally introduced before the Tennessee Supreme Court on Tuesday, Jocey took an oath administered by Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Janice M. Holder to uphold both the United States and Tennessee State Constitutions.

Jocey, who received her B.A. from the University of Mississippi, recently received her Doctorate degree from the Nashville School of Law. After graduation and following a year of intense study, Jocey sat for the Tennessee Bar Exam in February. Her induction in front of the Tennessee State Supreme Court marked the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to her academics and career.

“It was both an exciting and emotional day as this marked the end of a long journey and the beginning of what will hopefully be a long, successful career,” Jocey said.

Jocey’s next step is becoming a lawyer for the Design Team L.L.C., a customized sign manufacturer out of Savannah, Tenn. She is thrilled to begin her new job with the Design Team and hopes to someday partner with her fellow legal colleagues to create her own practice.

Jocey looks forward to being both an active member in the field of law and on the football field, where she will cheer the Tennessee Titans to victory this season.

From the Buffalo Pro Cheer Blog:

Mercy Flight WNY is an independent, not-for-profit provider of emergency air medical transport. With 5 helicopters based in WNY, they’ve flown more than 17,000 patient missions since their inception 28 years ago. Independent of any one hospital, they deliver patients to the facility that best suits the patient’s needs as far as hospital capabilities and location. Being an independent not-for-profit organization, their funding comes primarily from donations raised through charity fundraisers.

This weekend, Buck’s Motorsports of Akron, NY had a big promotion going on with their motorcycles and used that opportunity to stage a fundraiser for Mercy Flight. Buck’s donated a new bike to be raffled off and members of the Buffalo Jills were on hand for a bike wash on Saturday, washing customers’ motorcycles for a donation to Mercy Flight. With sunny weather in the 60s, it was a bit chilly for bikinis, but Amanda, Courteney, Katy, Jess, Alyssa, and Nicole L looked incredibly hot in their tops and Daisy Dukes as they washed bikes and posed for pictures with the bikes and, in most cases, the bike owners. When things died down, Jess and Nicole L took a tour of Buck’s Motorsports to check out the bikes on sale and pose for a few pictures.
